X-Time...

I'm curious. How many singles did you find and how much did you spend?

I've never figured out a way to make singles work...

What singles? Sets from the last 6, 12,16 months?

They take up a LOT of table space and weigh as much as a tub full of boxes. A 5000 count box of base sets, even at $5 a set, has a LOT more potential to make a dealer some money.

Finally, I've only ever been asked about singles maybe once or twice a show. The appeal seems limited, or maybe that's because nobody brings their lists of singles since there are so few.

Now, I know a dealer who was worrying about how to fill up a second table in Chicago... Maybe singles are the answer. Razz

Howdy Ed,
Found about eight-ten 5000 ct boxes full. All modern releases...likely 2007-present...for 10 cents a card.
With table fees it makes sense not to fill your space with base commons. However, in Chicago Paul allowed collectors to bring donations of commons. Most arrived in clean shape and organized by sets. Paul sold them by the card or in lots and the proceeds went to charity. It was more of a service to collectors and another way to help out a worthy charity. Paul would know more about some of the logistical issues, but it seemed to work well. I recall bringing home several hundred singles to build sets.
I'm guessing that dealer will give serious thought to bringing a box or more of singles if you can work with him on the table fee. Razz

Thanks to the lady at RA, she was kind enough to find me a Brady Bunch promo.

Was it you my promo went to? I was asked at the end of Saturday to give up my Brady Bunch promo as someone really wanted one, and would not be at the show on Sunday. Rob from Rittenhouse had taken them away already for the day, and was told they would replace mine on Sunday, which they did.

That is funny it went to you. Glad you enjoyed the show.

Mike.
