BatmanPhilly Show Reports
Off to a rousing start, got in around 6 and went to dinner with Mrs. Batman, and then we watched the Smallville finale in our room, and then we got "the call". Saw a bunch of folks down in the lobby, Marlin, Roxanne, Promo Czar Bill, and I was given some very special birthday gifts, which I will post when I get home on Sunday, but a big thank you to Harris and my Sugarbear Kate Bradley, and to Graham and Kevin also for the cool CD. Off to Red Robin with Graham, Kevin, and Harris for some late night fun, best was Graham's small English cigarettes, but that's enough said about that. Time for bed, big day tomorrow at the show!

RhiburgerNoCheeseAxebone and I got in very early and had breakfast at the Waffle House. Checked in and took much needed naps. Met up with Tony Perna around 6:30 and then we went to dinner with Tony, Elaine, Sean Pence and his good friend John. We sat at dinner for nearly 2 hours after we were done laughing and chatting.
This is a specatcular group of people. Can't wait for the rest of the weekend

hammerHelped sort out the admission promo's yesterday - very nice they are too. Day started badly when the Hotel bus driver got lost trying to find the venue and dropped me and graham off at a Volvo car dealer - harris had to come and pick us up. Harris then showed he is the master of delegation when he "wandered" off everytime we needed the promo piles re-stacking and let me and Graham climb on a wall to put the NSU show banner up, in the entrance to the show car park - Class

H_ToserHey, at least I picked you up!!
The show for me has been a blur so far. Too much con brain mixed with my own scatterbrain. highlights though have been seeing Graham and Kevin here, meeting the folks from Cryptozoic and Famous Fabrics, meeting Rhiannon, Axebone, and the Perna's, seeing Mrs Batman again, and talking with BJ, Monica, Val and John. I never get enough time on one thing so that by the end of the weekend, I wonder what I did.

Things have gone pretty well so far though I am sorry about the delays at our admission table this morning.

RhiburgerNoCheeseThis show was amazing. The enegry between the artists was positive and friendly. Meeting for the first time, Axe and I gelled with Tony, Elaine, and Sean ( who've been friends for years ) as if we were all childhood friends. It made the show that much more special. It was like sitting with family at the show and not just peers who do what ya do.
LOVED every minute of it.

Electrawoman Cards f/k/a janeHarris, Roxanne & Marlin and Mr.& Mrs. Reighter put on another great show! Hard work pays off

Enjoyed the entire day, but as usual it was crazy and weird....I hope Cliff got some photos of the card vendors' items they had on display. There's a lot to look forward to in the coming months.

Over_Worked_Mom5 Things I Learned at the Philly Show
- Batman is old. Really, Really OLD
- Chocolate cake with peanut butter icing is yum!
- Graham talks funny but has gotten two new football fans
- Tony Perna will eat everything including Chewbacca (which tastes like chicken!)
- Brown bread with brown butter on a brown cutting board next to a brown knife is simply not cool.

Where's the thumb up button? I like your post, OWM. I did not know that about Mr. Perna -- had I known, we could have had demonstrations all weekend long.

hammerJust got back from the show MINUS my suitcase - had a 3 hour delay from Allentown to Toronto missed our connecting flight, got a later one that was delayed by another hour but they forget to put the luggage on, so most of my haul is still somewhere between USA/Canada And UK. The show however was GREAT - the location is strange but it was great to meet all of the NSU staff, Manufacturers and other cardtalkers. I did win the 2 ISP1 cards that RA offered as a table prize. Purchased 3 boxes of Tudors and even opened one of them at the Breygent table. Got some good pulls but whilst sitting at Allentown Airport Graham opened a box and pulled the Anwar Auto (the one I really wanted) and laughed. Great show, Great couple of days and when I get my luggage even better

H_ToserHammer~
I am glad to see you both made it back home. I think you and Graham deserve an award with putting up with the most this weekend. And I don't mean the time you spent with me! LOL
Eight hours in Heathrow, six hours in Washington, and another four in Toronto. That's insane! Plus a shuttle driver who doesn't know how to shuttle you, being put to work by a Yank immediately upon arrival, winning prizes from your own back yard, absorbent taxi fares, and spending all that time with Graham. You deserve an award. You really do.
Hope you get your luggage soon.

WandringRebelI'll post photos and a more detailed report when I get home tonight (if I can find some energy) but I just wanted to thank everyone for putting on another great weekend of events (not just the show but the Red Robin gathering, and CT breakfast too).
Can't wait until the October show!

Ted Dastick Jr.Man, this show was a blast! Was great to meet all my sketch card brethren (and sistren?). I can't believe the weekend's over, it went by so fast. I was so busy the whole time.
Was cool to catch up with everyone, being a regular at the show it's awesome to see so many familiar faces. Wish I could have hung out at the Red Robin longer, but I was dead tired.
The panel was fun, I hope this becomes a regular feature because I like hearing from other artists. I won a box of Wacky Packages 7 at the Gathering! Also picked up a box of KISS Legends and a Wacky Packages book from Jay Lynch, and a set of Tudors for the Mrs. Oh, and a couple boxes of Weird-Ohs for my dad.
Thanks, Robert, for the nice gathering Saturday night. Boy, Tony sure can eat!! Elaine, don't you feed him at home?

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our tables to buy our artwork!! You guys and gals rock!
The only downer was I fudged one of the giveaway Bettie Page sketch cards. Thankfully the collector was very understanding and I'm making it up to him.
But not to end my post on a down note, the weekend culminated in one of my favorite fanboy pics - wearing Rick's Walking Dead shirt.
