Philly Show May 2011 Guests
Hi All:

We seem to have info on the guests for the upcoming Philly show posted in several different places over Card Talk and none complete. I wanted to post a complete list of the artists that will be exhibiting.

Guests for the Philly Show to be held May 14 & 15 at the Merchants Square Mall (1901 S 12th Street, Allentown, PA 18103) are as follows:

• Axebone

• Ted Dastick Jr.

• Jay Lynch

• Rhiannon Owens

• Sean Pence

• Elaine Perna

• Tony Perna

Rhiannon Owens is a recent addition. We are REALLY excited about the line-up.

They'll be more Philly Show news coming soon.

Hope to see a bunch of you at the show!

An outstanding line-up! I don't know how you are consistently able to get these folks, but whatever you're doing, keep it up! Nice job, Harris! Thumb Up

Hi All:

Unfortunately, John Czop will not be able to make the Spring Philly Non-Sports Card Show. We have added another guest, however....artist Ted Dastick Jr. will exhibit at the show.

There is more info on the artist including links to their sites on our Philly Guests page.

Just one month to the show now.... Big Grin

But won't this mean that the Show will lose one admittance-paying customer? Ted is a regular at the show. Wink

Ted, congratulations...looking forward to seeing you from the other side of the table for a change.

Oh, don't worry Bill. We're still going to charge Ted to get in. He just doesn't know it yet. Shhhhh....

I've been there enough, I know the ways to sneak in. Wink

Looking forward to setting up! Glad to be a part of an amazing lineup.... although I kind of feel like Joe Blanton on the Phillies pitching staff (for you baseball fans). Red Face

LMAO. Charge him double. Wink

No, really. It'll be great to meet Ted and have him set-up as well. Clap Dance

Do they hand out these blank card stocks? I have never seen that before? What size is it?
5 x 7 or 8 x 10? That is a great idea to have multiple artist do the same character!

Thanks for any info.

Flag City Collectable

it is an 8.5" x 11" regular size sheet that I created specifically for the show
I started collecting sketches at comic book shows
I created my own pages for them to sketch on, to make it a little 'nicer' than just a blank page and to also personalize it a little towards them and the character
I decided to divide the page in four as I was going to a card show and its closer to card size

http://www.collectablechris.com/sketches.html
I am working on a web site to display my collection

here is an example of one of the pages I did

its for a local artist Daniel Wong
the symbol is the logo for the comic he created
I added his signature and his comic company
as well as where I got the sketch - the Sketches for Pledges logos at the top

here are the two pages I got done at the Chicagoland Entertainment Shows in Ohio last weekend
- I did one character per page, like you were thinking Smile
(easier as I only have to bring one page of reference)

glad you like the idea
I originally borrowed it from the owner of my comic book store
- need to give props to Rob at Stadium Comics in Brampton
of course I have improved upon the original idea Smile

Now I'm disappointed - I thought that was given out at the show. Great idea though

Great Job with those! Wow why couldn't I think of something like thatSmile You should market them as I think they would sell very well to sketch collectors visiting conventions especially if they were convention specific. Maybe you could work something out with Harris to promote your idea at philly and hand one out to each guestSmile

thank you for the nice comments
Its easy enough to do on your own
I use 110 lb paper

this is what I have for the Philly show
I put the artist signatures on the paper
- mistake now that Czop isn't coming and I no longer have access to the high end printer Frown

I made personalize pages for each of the artists as well, but those will be for later Smile

I do have generic copies of this page without the artist's signatures
- but I would rather not share Big Grin
