After finally making it to the hall on Sunday (Slow moving traffic and having to park in East 5 on the far side of the lake) I spent the first couple of hours wandering around getting my bearings. Stopped of at Paul's table to pick up the Allison Scagliotti auto I had on order (very happy to get this card) and went back later to and got the Eddie McClintock auto he had aswell. After popping down the pub for a bite to eat I went to find Arthur Darvill table to get his auto (very nice man to chat to), renewed my NSU sub and picking two promo packs so I was able to choice a sketch card (see below) and stopped off at Cult-Stuff's table were I was weighed down by the amount of promo's Jason was giving out (thanks), picked up two of the mystery sketch packs he had but they had not been packed so I picked two random numbers that Jason counted and ended up with two Hack sketches. Spent a few more hours wandering around picked up a few more things and say to some people I left very happy and very tired. ____________________ "No time like the present to change the future"

Had a great time at the show. Spent most of the weekend in the excellent company of Dave and Paul B. Harris joined us on Sunday night for a celebratory meal (I will let one of the other guys start that conversation, especially if they have pictures ). Saturday at the show was reasonably busy, with quite a few tables selling cards and bargains to be had if you had the cash to spare. Promo collectors had more to chase down than they have had for a few years. The only negative, card wise, was the lack of new product at this show from the American manufacturers. Not sure if it’s a symptom of the current economic situation, but the same was true at the Toy and comic sellers stalls – plenty of older collectables for sale, but not a lot of new products. ____________________ Aahhh, Beer! – The cause of, and solution to all our problems.

Even at the Philly show, there wasn't a lot of new product that wasn't to be found. I think that's a reflection of the number of premium pack releases and the fact that many dealers do not carry premium packs. ____________________ Twitter = L_Inglis_artist Facebook = LauraInglis7 http://laurainglisillustration.com

I planned my trip back to the UK from Malaysia (not Thailand Wolfie!!)to make sure I would be able attend the Winter Memorabilia Show. I arrived in Birmingham Friday afternoon and met up with Patrick (Patdata) and Paul B (Quaint1). The Saturday started earlyish and after a short trip on a very busy train followed my quite a long walk we arrived at Memorabilia Show! The amount of people waiting for the early bird entry didnt seem to be as many as previous shows but overall the the turnout was very good and more importantly people seemed to be actually spending money! The normal crowd of people were present, Paul Hart, Patrick, Paul B, John the Hat and that annoying american guy ... Harris and Wolfie. quite a few Cardtalkers came by the NSU table and they all tried very hard not to get a Paul Bines Philly promo but they seemed all to leave with a signed version. I was at this point going to list all the names but I seem to have memory problems that have absolutely nothing to do with the drinking that happened over the weekend! Sunday as usual was a very quiet day (comapred to the Sat) but it still seemed to fly past and before I knew it Memorabilia was over for another year. Hopefully I will make it back next year to meet up with eveyone again. I will be posting some pics later (maybe tomorrow) ____________________ Dave

There really is very little I can add to the comprehensive reports already posted (especially by Wolfie!) I had a great time - met up with loads of Card Talkers; interviewed a few people fo r the next podcast, took some pictures (which follow) and picked up some cards and other collectibles (thanks to John the Hat and Paul at Umbrella, I have now only got 1 figure to get and I'll have completed my Series 1 and 2 sets of Doctor Who Character Building! (Not including the ultra rares of course)) I will say this - it's tiring following Jason Johnson of Cult Stuff around! He was chasing off meeting people, distributing promos, talking to dealers about product and searching for new artists for future projects (I know he was looking carefully in the artist alley!) I didn't get to record him at the show, but I hope to record his thoughts on the weekend, his first as an exhibitor, by phone in time for Episode 41. His long suffering wife Liza deserves a lot of thanks too - and I hope she did well in the shoe shopping trip she had planned for the Monday! Thanks to all who said hello to me, and if I missed yo uwhen handing out my promo card, never fear - I'll get you next time! Au Res., PaulThis message has been edited. Celebrities Section: Sir Derek Jacobi and some podcasting geezer (I should say that Sir Derek was charm itself and was, as far as I could see, friendly and patient with everyone who came to his table!) That podcasting geezer again, this time with Ian McNeice (aka "Winston Churchill" - another friendly chap!) Harris' Chocolate HobNob dealer, Anne (aka @momsfilms), you-know-who, and Anne's daughter, caught mid-negotiation (I'm seeing abotu getting Anne to replace Wolfie at Midlands Show Correspondent!) ____________________ Sometimes, one pack is not enough... http://www.paulbines.co.uk http://cardboardworld.blogspot.com/ http://www.cardcast.co.uk/ Twitter: @ukcardcast
