The base cards look really nice with the water painting images on the dimpled canvas like paperstock used. The various insert card subsets look great as well.

The is a noticiable change in the Gallery Cards as they are now thinner and are the thickness of a single card instead of the previous stiffer 2 card thickness. And with RA's changing the odds from 1:40-->1:30, one should now get 8, instead of the previous 6, from a case.

The sequentially numbered acetate cards for the Women of Xena also look fantastic.

I enjoyed the 18 card subset of Portraits of a Warrior by artist Patricia parker. as well as the North American subset done by Rebekah Lynn.

The Artifex cards by Renée O' Conner were whimsically cute and not unlike the caricatures drawn by a famous artist who likes to embed the name of his daughter (NINA) into his creations.

The Women of Xena subset reminded me of one of the subsets in the Women of Bond in Motion, with its BW imagery.

The art on the case topper cards looked fantastic (althoughI don't have either) and the artist should be proud of his/her work.

I'm glad that I was able to find an autographed card (in the binder case) of Allison Wall as Minya for the Binder, where it DIDN'T look like she signed her name as "A (trailing line) Wall" . Mine is signed "Ali Wall".

And the sketch cards were fantastic. I wasn't sure what my mix was going to be, but I'm definitely not disappointed at all. OK, a colorized sketch card would have been cool, but the 4 BW pencil, and the 1 Black Ink SketchaFex cards I got were great.

Overall, I think the set is great. Just two things I didn't like. First the wrapper RA Reward points reverted back to 1 pts from the 2pts/pack that was on the last few sets. And secondly, there were only 20 packs vs the normal 40 packs/box. Combined the lowered wrapper points and ½ pack/box count and ......

Overall I loved the set but I am bummed I can't afford all the inserts just now. I'm hoping RA will do more art style cards but with less inserts. I loved the sketch cards and will keep looking for more of those.

I was pleased to get two Gallery cards (even if 1 was a double since I can trade it)and two Women of Xena cards. I really like those cards. I was not sorry to have missed a ROC artiFEX card; they were my least favourite insert. I appreciate that it is ROC drawing them herself but still the style is my least favourite. I really liked the Shuler cards and must get the rest of them.
I still think this was a great set and hopefully overtime I'll be able to get more inserts.

Got a box at a pretty decent price,and it arrived today.I was very happy with the results.This is one of the few boxes where I liked all the insert levels in the series.

At first Sod (AKA Murphy of Murphy's Law) was being difficult by providing the same inserts I already had but he made up for it with the sketches. Without his help I'd have never been able to get a Parker! I'll try and scan them later tonight. Okay you'll just need to imagine what they look like because the pictures just won't appear.

So I bought another box to cheer myself up
North American box 6738. Murphy blessed me with more doubles = na8 (each time I get a north american box I get this card!), pp6, pp10, pp17. I gave in and giggled. At this rate it will be a long time to compete portraits of a warrior and the Rebekah artifex sets since I only get 1 new Rebakah and two new portraits with each box. Plus I realise that once I am almost complete with all my sets (after spending hundreds on boxes) then and only then will Murphy finally grant me an archive box Oh well at least he loves me sometimes such as the Parker sketch. I also love the detail on the Rosema sketches - along with the hint of color from the green pencil work. I think this has to be my favourite Xena issue.

To cheer myself up I bought another box of Xena art & images; this time a uk box to get more shuler cards and hoping for another nice sketch. So what does Murphy do? I get the same Rosema Gabrielle sketch as before and only get 2 needed cards Shuler ia6 and Women wx6 everything else was something I have already pulled from a box. ARGH. If I had unlimited money I would not care (of course with unlimited money I'd have already bought cases and wouldn't be having this problem anyway). But now I've wasted the money on a box that only yielded two new inserts when I could have used that money to buy sketches or needed inserts on ebay or pay for physical therapy. So once again: ARGH!

Oh yes I am hoping so. All I want is a Carter costume card because she's the only sg1 team member I don't have a costume card for. Knowing 2 boxes are winging my way was cheering me up.
Can you tell instead of retail therapy I'm going for card therapy to deal with my back pain?

Well I picked up another box of Xena for more card therapy but I shouldn't have bothered because Murphy provided me with the same Bolson Xena card I had already pulled ARGH
Then I get the same ROC artifex I traded for ARGH Which is why I often mutter about giving up buying boxes and just having someone put together master sets for me but there's no thrill to chasing prebought master sets. However I could have used that money to buy more sketches from the Xena set I don't have ARGH What on earth are the odds to buy two boxes that repeat sketches I have already pulled.
