Issued by Inkworks in 2007 to commemorate the pending release of the movie based on the first book in Philip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" trilogy.

Boxes hold 24 packs of 9 cards each, with 10 boxes per case. Expect 2.82 base sets of 72 cards per box if collation were perfect. Items not found in packs include the CL1 case-loader, the binder, dealer sell sheet, and at least nine different promo cards. Pieceworks state the swatches are "authentic costume material" from the item, but do not specify that the item was worn onscreen by the actor.

I was a little bit nervous with the first two boxes' duplication of low chase, but the third box came through with a mini-master missing just the one 1-per-box DF card.

Based on the images on the cards and the casting, there is a good chance that the film will be a winner. You can't conclude too much about FX animation from stills, and there are a *lot* of animal characters in this movie, but they look more real (on average) than I remember from Narnia TLTWATW.

The Dæmon Form cards are the best lenticular cards I've yet seen
The Lyra's World lenticulars average ( perhaps theres too much detail in the cityscape for it to work well )
The Truth Teller cards don't really gain anything from being lenticular

Overall its a very good set and very well designed
