Whoo!

A FANTASTIC set!
- I love the base cards (except the mis-cut one’s, obviously) – detailed and interesting.
- The Ark of Truth is a “simplistic” foil-stamp chase set that I haven’t seen in SG1 cards for a while (I like it!)
- The Women of Stargate is a beautifully presented “portrait” set
- The Film Clip cards are stunning (as expected)
- The Patch cards are a nice little nod to “costume cards” without actually being authentic costume cards – although it’s a shame Jonas Quinn wasn’t in there – it’d have been good to see the recognition of ALL main SG1 team members throughout 10 seasons of Stargate! (Jonas wasn’t a member of SG1 is Season 10, but then again, neither was O’Neill, was he?).
- The Auto line-up is superb, with 3 main SG1 members and lots of really noteworthy guest-stars – I don’t know why the Carter and Teal’c cards were done differently, but I like the way that Rittenhouse has mixed it up.
- The Costume set – of the ones I got, there were a few one-tone swatches, which is OK (they came from one-tone clothing -what do you expect? ha ha), but I LOVE the Nox swatches – very funny and very colourful! The President Landry tie(?) swatch I pulled was very nice (looks like it was cut on the join between material!), and there are a few that include a “seam” or other variation, so that’s great.

Now, the negatives;
OK, apart from the “it’s a shame there was no Jonas Patch” rant above, I only have one “complaint” – and this stretched right back to the Season 4 release;
I wish Rittenhouse would have made up their minds about dual-costume labelling – first it was the Season 4 C12 (labelled in sequence with normal costumes), then the Season 8 “C35” [which, admittedly, wasn’t ACTUALLY labelled, and there WAS an ‘official’ C35 in Season 9 – so, technically this was “unlabelled”]. Then the Season 9 “C13” and “C14” (both labelled, following from the C12 is Season 4 – for some reason - duplicating numbers in the Season 5 set). Now we have an unlabelled ‘Landry’ card.

I know I’m being a bit [VERY] picky – I can’t help it – I’m an administrator! I CRAVE order over “chaos”.

Plus, I have to find SOMETHING to complain about, on an otherwise GLORIOUS farewell to the SG1 Seasonal sets!

I already had the Anteaus and Adria autos so those are double and triple respectively. I told myself if I got a Teal'c or Carter auto I would sell but I think I will keep the Carter I pulled. I have extras to sell or trade now.
All in all, I was pleasantly surprised.

For the past few seasons of Stargate I have consistently bought 3 boxes and traded/bought for the various chase sets. With the range of chase cards and the hit rate, I increased to 9 boxes (I split a case with another Australian collector). Oddly, I am both very happy and a little disappointed with the collation. The set is fabulous and all the chase cards are great.

I pulled lots of the very limited cards so will be able to pick up what I still want fairly easily. However, with 9 boxes from the same case, I was expecting to be able to complete both of the common chase sets without chasing. Despite getting some extras, there were several gaps. It's possible the other 3 boxes had duplicates of all the cards I am missing. I will edit once the other person advises their breaks.

Also, the 3 patch cards I got included one double. Unless the other 3 boxes all had patch cards, the case was short 1 or more patch cards. This is in addition to the missing auto.

That can be the trouble with 9/12ths of a case. I do note that 2 of your boxes scored an extra Women card. Your friend may well have got an extra auto card as well

Collation was not up to Rittenhouse's usual (extremely high) standards but I am very happy because I came out on the high side, unusally for me. There were 7 very limited cards in the case, with a great spread of autos and costumes. The standard chase sets were very unevenly distributed but I don't imagine I'll have much difficulty trading for them.
