This is a delightful little series of cards that illustrate characters from the WizKids miniatures gaming universe, but under a license to Upper Deck to make a card set that would appeal to non-sports collectors. Think of it as a glossy, UV-etch counterpart to the AD&D cards, but with artwork uncredited because the characters are based on the miniatures. Card backs have character stats, descriptions, and game tips that are specific to the character.

I picked up four boxes in a lot. Each box has 24 packs of 8 cards plus two miniatures from the "Legions" game expansion. Across the four boxes I completed 6 base sets and a full set of six miniatures. Expect 1.87 base sets per box, if collation were perfect.

Finding 3 autographs in 4 boxes hints that the manufacturing run must have been 5000-6000 boxes. If there were 1000 Dragon Cards and 1500 redemptions, this would predict around 5900 boxes' worth.

allender I'm surprised you didn't get any dragon cards. I really like the Dragon cards from this set. I was trying to put an autograph set together but I'm missing 2 or 3 autos. Were the boxes cheap as this set is about 5 years old.

The Dragon cards are about 1 per 6 boxes, so I was a little bit unlucky not to pull one, but not very much so.

My boxes came to $36 for the four, including shipping. But I think the seller ships only within USA.

That's a good price I wouldn't pass on that deal. I see by your checklist that you are missing the name for Autograpgh #7. I think have that auto so I'll try to get you that name only if I can find where i put my auto's.

Summary over 8 boxes: 12 complete base sets. Cards RE1, RE7, LA11, and LA29 showed up about twice as often as the other base cards, and might have been double-prints. From 0 to 5 of the Gold Foils (still no RE55 or RE63). A complete set of 16 Melee cards, 1 to 4 copies of each. Zero MK Dragon Cards (I might have expected 1.34 of them by now). Six autographs, but two were repeats. Three redemption cards (normal would have been 2.02 of them). More than my share of Rare (1:2 boxes) figurines, 7 when I would expect 4; thus fewer of the Common figurines (9 versus 12).
