Another Bargain Box

break down

Box Loader 1:36 (BL-2)
Looney Tunes Tours 1:11 (3)
ACME cards 1:17 (2)
Autograph Redemption 1:36 (1) Joe Dante (At least it wasn't a Stanton Bro.)

Not nearly as happy as last time, and I did not do the "I got the best card" dance.

The biggest dissapointment was that this box had almost the identical inserts, and singles.
I only got two inserts that I didn't get in my first box, and none of my extra singles could be used to fill the third set.

Everyone is talking about getting boxes at "good" prices. Can you let us know what sort of prices you are paying.

As I live in the UK I have to buy boxes of cards through Ebay as the shops over here charge way more that what I can get them for online (including airmail postage).

I've won three boxes so far. I paid between $25-30 for each.

A Third Bargain Box

break down

Box Loader 1:36 (BL-2) Same one all three times!
Looney Tunes Tours 1:11 (3) More doubles
ACME cards 1:17 (2) I am 1 card away from this set finally!
Autograph Redemption 1:36 (1) Dan Stanton Frown Shake Head

Well, I have one more bargain box on it's way, and if I pull another Stanton, or Dante it will
be my last. If I pull the Martin, Elfman or Fraser I will definitely have to consider making a master.

Once more, my biggest dissapointment was that this box had almost the identical inserts, and singles
as my first two boxes. (Except for autos of course!) I would not complain one bit if every auto was Locklear.
It's still a fun box, and at the price they are selling, it's hard not to grab them. My daughter loves opening them too, so it's fun all around.

Picked up a couple of cheap boxes. Heres what i got:

Box 1
Base sets x2
BL2
LTT 1, 2, 3
A 1, 2
AD-1 (Brendan FraserSmile)

Box 2
Base sets x2
BL2 (again Frown)
LTT 1, 8, 9
A 4, 5
AD-1 (Don Stanton - indifferent, wudda liked someone else though Smile)

With the spares commons i managed to make another base set. Collation for this set out of two boxes therefore was really good, especially for common cards.

I have a few spare chase to trade and need a few to complete this set... i shall post what i need in the trade forum!!!

REVIEW is in...

36 packs, 6 cards each C-
Box design B-
Wrapper design B+ (metallic)
2 base sets A
Base design C (good mix, some weak images)
A3,4 B+ (glitter)
LTT4,5,6,7 B+
BL2 C (motion card would have been better)
Auto redemption D-Mad (HLocklear)Dance
Auto redemption card design B+
Insert ratios D 8/36
Value "Bang for Buck" D
Fun Factor C-

Overall C/C-
Chase design is the strength of this release. Some base card images are a little fuzzy. Eventhough, I got the best auto, I despise auto redemptions. Motion cards would have been a great improvement.

Wow, your standards must be mighty high to give a D- for a heather Locklear auto. Eek

Please read the note at the bottom of the review about my disdain for redemption cards. The low grade is for the autograph being a redemption card.
Just because I happen to get lucky and pull a great auto/costume/very rare chase card, still try to not let that bias my review.
Thanks for letting me clarify.

Because I got a very good price, and I was assured that all the redemptions is still being honoured, I bought myself a case Smile

Caseloader CL-1 (but no casino-chip card)
Boxloaders: 3 sets - 1 spare
LTT (puzzle): 2 sets - 14 spares (1 short of third set)
Acme cards: 3 sets - 3 spares

Autos:
1x Brendan Frasier
1x Jenna Elfman
1x Steve Martin
1x Heather Locklear
1x Bill Goldberg
2x Don Stanton
2x Dan Stanton
1x Joe Dante

No big suprises since a case was supposed to have all the autos, but I am still happy that it really had them Smile

Yeah Inkworks is pretty good about redeeming expired redemptions as long as they are in stock Thumb Up
