Yes, it does seem as if the X-Men cards have been taking a hit lately. I've seen the Jackman, Famke, & McKellen autos sell for well under $100 each on the bay. Maybe once the next movie comes out, things will start picking up...

Opened another box I got off eBay -- 7 chromium cards, Cyclops costume and 0 autographs. I had so much luck with these lately I was due for a dud. I didn't think I would get 0 autographs however. Oh well, I have one more box off the same seller coming in a week or so and I will post the break as soon as I open it....

These boxes are definetly drying up. I happened to receive one for Christmas. I was going to keep it sealed but I chose to open it. I was sure that a dud was coming my way with my great luck (sarcastic). Here are my pulls.


auto - Hugh Jackman as wolverine (yay)

costume - Famke Janseen as Jean Grey

chromium inserts - Professor x , Wolverine , Jean Grey , Magneto , Sabertooth , Cyclops (2)


Overall I was very happy with the break. I think I did great for a 12 year old kid.

I bought 20 hobby packs along with 6 Magneto promos a while ago for $0.99 + $10 shipping. I assumed these were already cherry picked, but I didn't care because I just wanted 3 sealed packs (1 of each wrapper design) for my master set. Well, I had an itch to open something today, so I sacrificed 5 packs and surprise surprise.....pulled a Magneto autograph & 1 chromium card!! Plus I have 15 packs left for a rainy day

Too late....the itch wouldn't go away and I ended up opening everything (its like potato chips, can't eat just one) Anyways, total was 1 magneto auto, 1 jean grey costume, 4 chromiums (C1, C2, C4, C7), and 1 base set.

Got 2 boxes on ebay and decided to open one and keep the other sealed. I know its weird, but for some reason, I feel a master set is more complete when there's a sealed box in the collection. Anyways, here are the results. (In hindsight, I should have opened the other box and kept this "dud" sealed )

Ok....so i opened the other box. Even though I already have a master set, I just can't help it. No box (or even packs) remain sealed around me for long.

I ordered an 8-box sealed case, but it arrived damaged, so I ended up opening everything. Luckily the hits were safe. Results below:

I still have 120+ unopened packs. It's possible that there's a 2nd auto in one of these boxes. I pulled 2 autos from a single box several years ago, so maybe I'll get lucky again. Just too tired to open any more right now lol.
