Breygent Marketing, 2005. Single box for me: 40 packs of 6 cards. Some traditionalists might complain that the photos of The Boys and other cast are colorized. But the production values are stellar, and the base cards have a "premium" feel, somewhere between matte and glossy. Collation was excellent. Average would be 3.29 base sets per box if collation were perfect. Base cards: 3 complete sets, 11 +1 and 5 +2 dupes. 1 of 9 Curly Years die-cut (1:box): CY-7 1 of 12 Shemp holofoil (1:box): SS-7 0 Costume/Prop cards (1:80 packs) 1 Sketch Art card (1:80 packs): a color sketch by Chris Henderson, called "Very Rare" on the Breygent website 0 of 4 Stooge Milestones (1:160 packs, SM1-SM4) Note that the "low-end" chase cards are all fairly scarce. Here's what I know about the rest of the distribution. In-pack costume or prop cards include: 6 Joe DeRita as Curly Joe costumes C1-C6 2 Cut Signatures: CS1 Moe Howard (# to 9) and CS2 Joe DeRita (# to 28) 1 Curly Joe's Stationery S1 (# to 24) 1 Larry Fine's Residual Check RC 1 Moe Howard's Gold Chain Jewelry Card SGJ (# to 57) Case-topper Film Cel Prop Cards: F1 Dizzy Doctors F2 Yes, We Have No Bonanza 6-Case Incentive Prop Card: DP Curly Joe DeRita's Desk Plaque Sketch cards are from four artists: Darren Auck, Cynthis Cummens, Chris Henderson, and Warren Martineck. Each comes with a color variation noted as "Very Rare, limited to 10 copies", except for the Henderson which is shown just with the "Very Rare" words. Henderson also produced a special sketch card for the 2-case incentive, and a "Repro Sketch Art Card Set" included with the binder.

I know some people have not liked the chase cards being so hard so i will ask you collectors what you like easier chase cards or more of the same where the chase cards are harder to make a set...I want to make sure i try to please everyone with the Wizard Of OZ TOM BREYER BREYGENT MARKETING

I say leave the inserts like they are. IMO..making them harder to get keeps them collectible and the fun in building stuff is in the search for them wether youre buying on ebay or trading for them.

Tom I have to say that the main reason I have shied away from this and the John Wayne set is the chase cards. Having to buy twelve boxes to complete a lower-end chase card set (and hoping to get no duplicates in any of the boxes) is just too much for me. I think you inadvertantly took the hobby to the nth degree: instead of "special" cards being "randomly" inserted into packs, we got "one of this card" per box; "one of that" card per box. This totally eliminates the randomness in collecting. At the very least "1 in X packs" gives the collector hope of beating the odds. It's kind of like "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". The first several questions are marginally easy to give the contestant the impression they can win. If it takes the contestant several shows just to get off the easy questions, no one is going to be watching when it comes times for the big questions (in trading card parlance, cut signatures/clothing cards). The lower levels have to be easy to create an impression that the higher levels are attainable. By the way, at the other end of the spectrum, the idea of actually getting an autograph of Moe Howard and Curly Joe De Rita is an excellent, excellent hook. I have been waiting for "cut signatures" to begin in earnest, and you have proven to be the innovator. Here's hoping your company lasts for many years to come.

I would have thought 3 of the 9 and 4 of the 12 is a better ratio. I personally think 3 to 4 boxes should yield a mini-master set

Having said that - VERY impressed with the 2 sets

Got a box of these today and they are neat cards. Probably a couple base sets, haven't checked yet. The Curly Years: CY-1 (neat diecut design, canvas texture.) Shemp insert: SS-6 Super neat Curly Joe costume card: Pink Shirt #C4 I like this set almost as much as the John Wayne. Glad I pulled a costume card instead of a sketch. Don't get me wrong, I love sketch cards. But costume cards are really special! ____________________ -"One of the symptoms of approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one's work is terribly important."
