This thread is dedicated to the 1993 Marvel Universe Red Foil Capital City 3-panel uncut strip promos, which are /1200 on back. The purpose is to track the numbers observed to glean info about them. As of the start of this thread, there have been 26 observed promo numbers.
It is still not known for sure if each of the 3 is /1200, or if all of them together are /1200. If they are all out of 1200 together, there has been no obvious pattern detected in the numbering yet.
Also there hasn’t been any number below 500 yet observed of the 26, which would be a .00000082 chance if numbers were random, so that signifies it’s not random and there must be a reason we only see promos >500 in number. If there really are promos only >500, then there would essentially be either 700 or 2100 total of these red foil strip promos out there (depending on whether they are all together numbered to /1200 or separately).
Here is an uncut sheet of the red foils (not of the promos, of the regular red foil inserts).
If anyone sees a Capital City promo with number not listed above, feel free to post it.This message has been edited. Last edited by: wolverine651,

If the first 500 were given out, the odds are at least a few would have surfaced by now. You wouldn't think they were reserved for sometime later since they were made for that particular event. Maybe the boxes with those first 500 didn't make the trip or they were left at the show as trash. I've seen dealers leave stuff at shows before.
Every once in a while, somebody on Ebay offers some rare stuff they acquired from a Skybox employee. It would be great to get in contact with one just to learn what they know especially the oddball prototypes and giveaways like these sheets.

Yep…was thinking something along those lines- made but just never got to their intended target or weren’t distributed etc, possibly even destroyed. As of now it looks unlikely we’ll see ones <500, but to your point that doesn’t preclude a “find” eventually hitting eBay of things held back by the Skybox company which never made it to market. As an uncut sheet collector I see that sort of thing sometimes. Doubtful but you never know. This is assuming they werent outright trashed.
Until then, I think we can be pretty confident the numbering starts at around 500 and that does mean these promos are even a little more rare than thought from the serial numbering.

In addition to the 3 which I mentioned in the other thread, I definitely have 2 more. One was taken out of the holder. I can try pulling it this week to find out what the number is on the back.
