Thanks for the info, Bill. You posted the contents of your Coin Cards envelopes earlier in this thread:

Skyforce, Landforce, Seaforce -- I may be missing one of those cards. It seems like I sent one to Roxanne for an illustration in NSU and didn't ask for it back.

Coin Cards -- I'll have to go look at those to see what is in the envelopes. Maybe later today?

Spaceshots -- Those were distributed by the manufacturer, pretty widely I think. I've seen them signed and unsigned. The signed ones (like in the video) are not authentic autographs. The signatures are printed on the page. Go to Worthpoint and search "Spaceshots sheet promo" and there are many of them, all with identical autographs. I probably got mine at the National Sports Collectors Convention in Atlanta in 1992. The Spaceshots people had a booth there that year, and Buzz Aldrin, Vladimir Dzhanibekov, and Bruce McCandless were all there, signing cards. (Elsewhere I've written that I met James Lovell there, but I was mistaken; I met him at the US Space and Rocket Center here in Huntsville [where Space Camp is conducted]).

3-card strips of Pacific cards. I went to the NSCC in 1992 (Atlanta), 1993 (Chicago), 1994 (Houston), and 1995 (St. Louis). These strips were giveaways at one (or more) of those conventions).

Just noticed that Heritage sold one of these as authentically signed for $189 last year -- surprising!

Here are the front and back of the uncut 8-card Blue Comet Press promo sheet (Blue Comet Press, 1993) not listed in PCE2008. It contains the 8 numbered promos which were inserted in various comic issues published by Blue Comet Press.

PCE2008 listed eight numbered promos plus one unnumbered card not included on this sheet. That card must have been printed on a different sheet unless this particular one was cut down from its original size.

I saw this for sale a couple of weeks ago. The singles aren't seen that often but they don't go for much. I'd never seen the sheet before.

I posted an image of this card (Chichiri) in the "Fushigi Yugi" thread in the General Promo category but I add it here as it isn't a card in the Fushigi Yugi listing in PCE2008. The cards are unnumbered so they are identified by the character shown on the front and described on the back.

Also, at the time of PCE2008's publication, only 8 cards were known but it's now recognized as an 18-card set.

"Fushigi Yugi" is a Japanese TV show (1995-1996) which was based on a manga series that started in 1991.

I have 6 of these cards and two of them are not on the PCE list so they must be from the 18 total .
Are the 18 cards all the same set or are there two sets.
At times I have tried to find others but no luck.

These are from VHS video tapes. There are 16 tapes in the set, as far as I could tell, but with 18 cards total, perhaps there are two more videos beyond the 16 which can be found in two different 8-packs. I'm not sure if the multipack versions feature the bonus card in each box, but here's an example of a single video with a sticker indicating the presence of a card in it.

PCE2008 lists two unnumbered cards under the heading, "El Hazard 2 (1995) AIC/Pioneer LDC." It also lists the set number as unknown. I haven't seen any cards with the year as 1995 but I have seen a few unnumbered with the year as 1996. I can say that the 1996 cards were inserted one per copy of specially-marked "El Hazard 2: The Magnificent World" VHS tapes. Sealed copies have a sticker that says, "Special El-Hazard 2 Collectible Cards Included Collect All 9 While Supplies Last."

Unlike the oversized foil-stamped "The Wanderers: El Hazard cards from 1997, the 1996 cards are standard-size with no extra stamping. There is color artwork on both sides with only a character name on the front to identify the card and no text on the back. I still have to post a couple of other cards, none of which match the cards listed in PCE. Either the year has a typo or I have cards from a separate unlisted set.

At the moment, it's unclear if the cards were randomly inserted or if the box art can indicate which card you are getting. I did get one card from a sealed tape and the artwork on the back did match the artwork on the front of the box. Also, the artwork on the back indicates that they are puzzle pieces but the ones I have don't fit together so it's possible they don't form a composite image.

I have also seen sealed Fushigi Yugi VHS tapes with a white sticker that just says "Collectible Card Inside." I don't know if there are different cards with tapes having that sticker but I have seen Fushigi Yugi cards that have a different design from what is shown above.
