This has been my belief as well- 1200 total. But I don’t think there’s really any hard evidence (not sure how one would prove it..you could prove 1200 each easily by supplying a duplicate serial number). I agree on the rarity. Of course in that mega mass produced era, even /3600 isn’t super high. Some in the other thread were speculating maybe a bunch went internally to comic dealers and execs at the show who didn’t really understand them and who knows what they did with them- I have zero idea if that’s the case or not.

Here’s the list of observed serial numbers for the 3 panels:
Panel A
761
895
955? (questioned, due to pic resolution)
988
1120

Panel B
534
590
607
664
681
704

Panel C
854
1041

So not one duplicate in this small sample, meaning 1200 total still very possible. Here the question though: if there were 1200 total, what is the rhyme or reason to the numbering in relation to the panels? That code has never been cracked. It’s obviously not first 400 are A, second 400 are B, third 400 are C. It’s also not sequential, like ABCABCABCABC. In fact it’s not clear what it could be at all..just random or something? That doesn’t make much sense. Perhaps this is one sign supporting maybe it was 1200 of each.

Also why every number being >500? That doesn’t make sense if these were random draws from 1-1200, chances of that are like .0009.

I may have been slightly high on the $500 number…but still these are probably $300-500 on avg. One did sell for as low as $108 back in May at auction on eBay, but perhaps people just didn’t see the listing.

I bought one at a show and sold it around 2005, I think. At the time, it was a rather rare item for sale. When they started increasing in value, more started appearing for sale but it hasn't been a flood.

I figure some collectors took the sheet out of the clear block to slip it in a binder page so it could be stored with the rest of the set. They didn't like anything that doesn't fit in a page. They're kicking themselves now that a sheet in the block can go for $

I have all 3 and an extra on 1 of them. I also have one sheet that someone removed from the plastic which was sold to me in the early 2000s. I can pull the 4 and tell you what the serial numbers are.

That is a fantastic collection, and yea if you have the SN’s that’d be great. I can add it to the database..trying to find any rhyme or reason to these numbers.
