It's time to get set for the 2011 7-11 cup promotions!!

I spotted today (Saturday, March 26th) evidence of a new one coming, so I thought it was time to get started with a 2011 thread. Below, as I've done with prior years, I will post new links to the cups as they start. I have started with Thor, which I can personally guarantee is coming down the pipe. As of this writing, you can't find anything online about the Thor promo, but I know it's coming. THOR (April)

The 7-11 Thor Promo should be in full swing starting April 1st. The promotion consists of 4 lenticular Slurpee cups (Thor, Sif, Loki, and Destroyer) and 4 super-shiny Big Gulp cups. You can also buy a set of four figurine straws. Natalie Portman fans, sorry....she doesn't appear to be on on any of the cups.

THE HANGOVER PART II (May)

Unfortunately, there appears to be no major film promotion in the month of May for slurpee cups, but the Hangover Part II film is being featured on 7-11’s Big Gulp cups. The cups feature 5 designs and are standard quality – the hard plastic with the images on a non-glossy surface, similar to the quality of the X-Men Last Stand slurpee cups featured a few years ago. SUPER 8 (June)

If you are a J.J. Abrams fan, this odd 7-11 promotion might be just for you!!! For the second time in a row, 7-11 is featuring a non-Slurpee, Big Gulp only promo. This time it's the new monster movie from the LOST creator, called “Super 8”, due out next Friday (June 10th). 7-11 is featuring only one design of a smaller Big Gulp cup advertising the film. I picked one up yesterday. Sorry, pics or links online are hard to find at the moment.

COWBOYS & ALIENS (July)

Starting today, July 1st, is a full-blown promotion for the new film with Harrison Ford & Daniel Craig. The promotion includes a special cup for $6.99 that features the robotics that wraps around Dabniel Craig's wrist, and a series of 3 lenticular slurpee cups and 3 flat-image Big Gulp cups.

WRESTLEMANIA® XXVIII (August)

Starting August 1st is a WWE promotion for Wrestlemania XXVIII and the video game “WWE All Stars”.

I don’t normally add the WWE to these annual threads, but these cups – I think - are a LOT nicer than ones in years past where they were motion cups (not as good as the motionless 3D ones) or just non-lenticular Big Gulp cups. There are four lenticular/3D Slurpee cups and four glossy Big Gulp cups. The Slurpee cups feature Stone Cold, The Rock, John Cena, and The Miz. The Big Gulp cups feature Roddy Piper, Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels, and Rey Mysterio. The promo also includes collectible straws with figurines attached (similar to ones used for Thor, Iron Man, Terminator Salvation, etc...).

Please let us know when you see the cups! I went to a 7-11 yesterday to check out the Slurpee cups but I did not see those THOR straws. Have to go back!

Hey guys. Regarding the Thor cups....they've been out for almost a week, here in Rhode Island.
I noticed them last Wednesday or so. I also saw those big topper things that go above the cups
and the straws.
There's a BIG Thor LENTICULAR cup that's pretty cool. I was thinking about buying it, but if it can't lay flat, I can't buy it {running out of storage space & the Mrs. will kill me. LOL}
I purchase other lenticular things {see my other posts regarding misc. cereal and puzzle lenticulars}.

I should have clarified my statement regarding the Star Trek cups/glasses. They were from Burger King NOT 7-11. I was just talking CUPS in general. Sorry for the confusion. My bad.

After not liking The Hangover I don't think I'll see part 2 or look for those cups.

I haven't heard of or seen any Capt. America or Green Lantern promos yet.
Heck, I still haven't seen those Reece's PB cup / Green Lantern wrappers, yet.

Typically, if a Slurpee promo is around the corner and the products show up early at a 7-11, they don't show up until - at the earliest - the last weekend of the prior month. That means if another cup promo is a-comin', I wouldn’t bother checking until this coming Memorial Day weekend. That’s just based on my experience here in Utah….it may be different in other USA regions, but I doubt it
