catskilleagleToy Story 5 cards in Kellogg's cereals
I was watching the Today show the other day and there was a segment on "blind boxes," products with mystery collectible items inside. You could get a rare doll or squishy thing depending on the product. During the segment, there was some mention of breakfast cereals having prizes in them this year and I thought I saw some cards. I went to Wal-Mart two days later and found a Family Size box of Apple Jacks advertising Toy Story cards inside.
You get one 2-card cello-pack per box with the cards being 2 3/4 x 3 7/8 inches. It's a 9-card set with images of the card fronts on a side panel of the cereal box.
The Family Size box of Apple Jacks was $5-something. I was in a Safeway and saw that you can get cards but only in the Giant Size Frosted Flakes priced at just under 10 bucks! Ten bucks for a box of cereal? Back in the late 70's, I think a box of Freakies was $3.

chesspiecefaceWell, it's a whole lot cheaper than the Toy Story 30th Anniversary set from Topps and you get a sweet tooth hit!
