I was wondering which tv series you thought was great but it got cancelled by the silly people who do these things.

My vote goes to BLADE.

I've just watched series 1 and i thought it was superb. How can they have watched this and thought it so bad that there would not be a series 2.? Confused

I have to admit I never saw Blade. But as to shows cancelled before their time. I can think of several.

  • Pushing Daisies
  • Enterprise
  • 4400
  • Firefly
  • Sarah Conner Chronicles
  • Crusade
  • The Dresden Files
  • The Riches

That will do for now. I'm sure I'll think of more. The likes of Battlestar Galactica and LOST where shows are allowd to continue to a satifying conculsion are few and far between.

Odyssey 5
John Doe
Loads of previously mentioned shows above would have had a regular viewing by me but the above two should have at least had a season to wrap them up.

The network TV habit of cancelling shows after they get you interested in them is one of the reasons I watch very little programs on ABC, NBC or CBS.

Back in the late 80's, my wife and I took to a show called "Berringers" a soap opera type show about a rich family that owned a big department store. (Don't laugh Wolfie, it was much better than it sounds) it starred the lovely Anita Morris and Sam Wanamaker, who were both always good in anything they did. They ran several episodes, the last one had Anita and another character trapped in the store when it was burning. The network never ran another episode, even though there were at least 2 more made.

There was also a great series about a bunch of Space marines in an interplanetary war that ended abruptly. (maybe one of you could tell me what the name of that one was).

All through Buffy, Babylon 5, Angel and Firefly, I sweated these shows out knowing that they could end quickly - Firefly did, Babylon 5 moved to cable before I did.

I hate the fact that netowrks expect you to invest some interest in these shows and then, because they want to, they yank them leaving you with an unsatisfactory conclusion.

We are in the start of a new TV season, it is interesting to speculate what will be left by December.
