Doctor Who Stars Come To U.S. TV
For us Doctor Who fans, if both shows get picked up for the Fall (sounds like the first already is), we'll be getting both David Tennant and Karen Gillan on network shows later this year.

First photo: David Tennant, Anna Gunn in Fox's 'Broadchurch' remake 'Gracepoint'

'Doctor Who' alum Karen Gillan to star in ABC pilot 'Selfie'

I'm pretty excited for Gracepoint as I loved Broadchurch. If Gracepoint is half as good... And I'll watch Karen Gillan in anything so I'll give 'Selfie' a chance (wait, you have to watch how you say this Roll Eyes )

Broadchurch was a Superb series - don't see why there is a need for a US re-make

I finally got the chance to see all of Broadchurch and I kind of agree with you. I say kind of because, while I was caught up with Broadchurch while I was watching it, I also thought that it could have better in the end.

There is a marked shift in tone that goes on between US entertainment and UK entertainment. I am talking more about attitude and outlook here, not necessarily violence or the need for a faster pace. From what I understand of the upcoming version, there will be 1 or 2 added episodes and they do intend to change the ending. Not altering the final resolution of the case, but it sounds like they may go back to that first unresolved crime and maybe set up something for another season.

Now that doesn't mean that a US version will make the story any better to me, it could make it much worse. There is already a big difference in look between Anna Gunn and the original actress who played the detective (sorry I can't remember her name) that I don't find right. She was supposed to be rather ordinary, not attractive. Also all those red herrings may not work well when set in a small American town.

I am hoping that Gracepoint will turn out well, I enjoy watching Tennant.
