Joss Whedon's probably over at Fillion's pad doing shots as we speak - as his show has also been picked up (rather unexpectedly, considering the Nielsen ratings) for a second season. It's a good night for Browncoats. Thanks to a built-in fan-base, Whedon and star Eliza Dushku's "Dollhouse" has snagged a 13-episode order for a second run; it'll likely remain on Friday nights. Hopefully Whedon can rope some more ex-"Buffy" players into guesting....

That's great! I'm glad the powers at FOX have come to their senses and, at least for now, have listened to the fans.

Stick with it. There are a couple of bad episodes early on, but it REALLY gets good.

Just watched the first episode......I was quite impressed. I was expecting something not quite 100% but I enjoyed it. Compared to most dross on UK TV it was very good!

Somewhat... I'm curious as to where it's going though. I'm really hoping Alpha is more than just a guy looking to get back his girl.

We *finally* watched the Alpha episode last night (still have not seen the season finale yet..), and I too was somewhat let down by this. Hopefully it will pick up with the season finale? Roll Eyes

Thank goodness for DVR !

This is clearly a modern take on the old Gerry Anderson puppet series 'Joe 90'. For those not old enough to remember, Joe was a 9 year old boy who had the knowledge and experience of much older people temporarily implanted in his brain so that he could carry out dangerous one-off missions for a secret government agency. Obviously they have introduced a much more decorative and older set of characters but most of the acting seems to be on a par with the original wooden puppets Big Grin

...and of course any problems Eliza Dushku might have with the series are entirely her own fault since she is both the main star and the Producer !

Saw a write up of a panel discussion at Comic-Con 2009 about Female Power. Now they had Sigourney Weaver, Zoe Saldana, Elizabeth Mitchell and Elisa Dushku. They asked about why the Wonder Woman movie was so hard to start. Each actress had an answer, but Dushku said "Because I'm unavailable", referring to the second season of Dollhouse no doubt.

You certainly can't say that the woman lacks confidence. Big Grin Although you might say that Megan Fox turned it down. Wink

Doubt they offered it to her, but I'm sure fox would turn it down she turned down bond girl.. Guess she wants to do dramatic roles lol

Don't know about dramatic roles, she really hasn't had any parts that test her acting skills yet. I think she doesn't want to play a secondary role anymore. Apparently someone did ask Fox about Wonder Woman though, and she said she thought the magic lasso was foolish, or words to that effect. I guess that meant she wasn't interested.

I'm sure Eliza was having a bit of a joke at that one. I really don't see them picking any woman under the 5'10" height to be Wonder Woman. She's meant to be a giant Amazon and all the serious comic readers would want nothing else than this.

I have to agree with Megan Fox on this one, I don't like the magic lasso either. Wonder Woman isn't one of my favourtie super heroes.

Hey, if they can make Tom Cruise look taller than his 5'7" shortself than they can make Eliza seem much taller than her 5'5"... they just need to hire shorter extras. Big Grin

I like the lasso myself. Nothing better than a woman who's good at tying things up. Razz

I can't see Eliza in the role for the same reason. But in the comics Wolverine is shorter than Jean Grey and comic fans came around to Hugh Jackman playing him.
