While I liked the first few eps they were definitely uneven, but tonight's episode was awesome. This is the kind of episode that I've been waiting for since this show was first announced, well written with several twists, good plot, well acted and lots of lovely Eliza. Also loved the way they slipped humor in, the whole scene where Echo jumped to the conclusion the internet money was from porn was hilarious, especially her last shout of "porn" as she walks by the bedroom with the bed covered in rose petals.

This is the first episode completely written by Joss and boy does it show, if the remaining episodes pack anywhere near the punch this one did I'll be fully hooked.

I too enjoyed last night's episode and the humor in Echo's "porn" comments. I also enjoyed the secret Echo/FBI exchange. I can't wait to see where Joss takes the Dollhouse conspiracy next. I hope the rest of the episodes are to this level.

I think this show is getting better. At first I wasn't too sure it would make it. But it's really picking up some suspense and I can't wait to see what happens. Smile

couple things (spoilers)

If you didn't see the twist with the neighbor coming then you are easily fooled Roll Eyes

The "inside man" BETTER NOT be the ex cop who is looking after echo, that would be one of the biggest letdowns in tv history. I myself am hoping that it's amy ackers character and she is either working for alpha or is alpha.

The last 3 episodes have been excellent, after a slow and uneven start the show has really picked up. By the looks of tonights episode they are really pandering to us Eliza fans (I mean that in a good wayWink) Anyone ready for some Dominatrix Eliza, err, I mean Echo.Big Grin Here's the preview clip for tonights ep:

Yea, it's getting much better, but I still find it somewhat fractured.

This girl I work with has loved every episode so far... but she doesn't count as she's a total Whedonphile. I love to drive her over the edge every once in a while by telling her Firefly sucked and deserved to be killed. Big Grin Razz

After what I thought were 2 or 3 horrible episodes, it has REALLY gotten good. I stopped watching, and everyone said, 'no, it's gotten good. Give it another chance.' I did, and I'm glad. I just hope FOX doesn't cancel it, as they've done to me so often.

We have DVR'd the last three episodes aired, and caught up on two of them last night ("The Awakening" and the one before that). These episoides are actually helping me to understand the show somewhat better. Still very disjointed, and the "cop on the hunt" storyline seems to be getting pushed to the back, but we are enjoying the show so far.

Of course, it remains to be seen how long the show will last--it plays Friday nights on FOX, which is almost a death warrant. Roll Eyes

i'm really enjoying this show. it has definitely gotten better. but that makes sense since i read that joss didn't really get creative control until episode 6. everything before that was controlled by fox executives. joss even said to wait until episodes 6-12 because that's when he got to do his thing.

IMHO if you don't give the show enough of a chance you didn't get to where it *really* starts getting good...I'd say around episodes 4-5-6 you get a hint, and after that it *really* takes off.

The beginning bunch of episodes are just setting the scene, the world, and doing a monster-of-the-week as I like to call it, sort of thing. Once that's established they really start getting into it, and I'm not finding it disappointing at all!

Just read that next Friday's episode is the season finale. What did they have, 8 - 9 shows? Why even bother! Shake Head

Wasn't Buffy's first season that short as well? I believe they just test these new shows with just a few episodes without compromising too much money.

Somewhat... I'm curious as to where it's going though. I'm really hoping Alpha is more than just a guy looking to get back his girl.

Buffy had 13 in it's first season, Terminator:SCC had 9 if I remember correctly. I think there is quite a lot of shows that only get a half season first year, then get the full 22 or so the next.
