Fox's Dollhouse, which has been delayed once to fix script problems, may be on the verge of a second delay, the Los Angeles Times reported; citing an anonymous source, the newspaper said that production on the seventh episode, which is supposed to begin Monday, is being delayed at least a day because the script was in such bad shape.

Yeah, as discussed in other threads, the whole concept of this series appears to have changed drastically from the first draft idea. Now its supposed to debut in February on Friday nights after Terminator Sarah Connor. This is a very bad night to find viewers and Terminator as a lead-in show has its own problems trying to avoid cancellation.

If Dollhouse turns out to be even half way successful I think FOX will be very surprised. The network is giving every indication that its dead on arrival.

Yeah it doesn't sound good to be having that many problems before the public have even seen it. Poor Eliza doesn't seem to have much luck with her own shows, first Tru Calling (which I enjoyed, but only went 2 seasons) and now this one.

Forget season 2--I doubt the show will make to the second half of season 1. Interesting to see that Fox has such little faith (sorry for the bad pun...) in its new shows.

Considering that the promo pictures for the show have eliza nude guessing they are using sex to sell the show

It's not that fox cancels shows early, most of the ones they did cancel(including firefly) deserved it.. But they don't know what to do with hits when they have them..

House- has been moved all over the map, now they put it against Chuck and big bang theory.

Bones- Most moved show in history lol.. On Thursday nights now after being on every other night

The only show they haven't damaged is their stupid reality show with terrible singers..

Well going by the opening episode there wasn't much of a story and no sex either. Just a bunch of glassy eyed people wandering around in what looked like a Holiday Inn spa and tanning salon.

Seriously it looked like a direct to DVD movie. Every 5 minutes the geeky mad scientist was zapping someone's memory while Eliza was playing a kidnap negotiator who only thought she was. But she did get to do a dance in a little white dress when she thought she was someone else and amazingly that proved to be the highlight.

I liked Eliza on Buffy. They had better program her to be Faith before this series is cancelled.

I just read on another site that tonight's show was actually the second episode filmed because the pilot was totally scrapped. That might explain why we don't know anything about the FBI man or the origins of this secret organization.

It's sad to say, but that dance scene was definitely the best part of the show.

I'm not sure how you're supposed to "connect" to a character who's different people every episode.

It was a bit uneven but it usually takes 2-3 episodes before you get an idea where things are going. I thought it was ok, although the "negotiator" character wasn't the best character to grab the audience for a pilot ep, we needed more of the motor cycle racing, club dancing character we saw at the very beginning.

I have a feeling this will change. My guess is that this series is headed for a Pretender type plot. For those that remember, Jarod had no memory and was searching for his origin, but he had the knowledge to pretend to be anyone. Meanwhile the secret organization that raised him had sent hunters out to bring him back. It was a suped-up Fugitive, for those who remember that one.

The Pretender started with a pretty good following of fans, but the network kept switching it around until it was cancelled. The contineous storyline was actually ahead of its time.

Echo may go the same way. She will escape after learning she is a pawn and search for her identity, while retaining the implanted memories, so that she will have all these abilities.

This is just my guess and if Joss is reading this I hope he doesn't steal my idea. Its not original, its a rip off of two shows back.

Hopefully he has something else in mind, if not I want writing credit.

I'm taking the wait & see approach. I have faith that Joss will put together an interesting theme if only Fox leaves him along long enough.
Don't get me started on trying to watch shows on Fox. Seems like every week I have to go to the fox website to see what night something is playing or has it been bumped for some reason or other

I liked the Pretender and also John Doe which were similar themes of people used by organizations and could pick up skills. Both went before their time and left unanswered questions. I just hope if Fox cancels Dollhouse we can get some style of plot wrap up.

You're right, it has elements of those also.

Then there was a bad Scarlett Johansson movie called The Island where everyone lived in a fake paradise until they were used for body parts. And of course there is the Jason Bourne series.

Guess there are a lot of people who don't remember a thing.

And hey!!!! I loved The Island! I thought it had a great message in that eventhough sometimes we can play at God perhaps we shouldn't. Although that was covered in Gattaca, Coma and The 6th Day. But then again this movie had Ewan and Scarlett which made it all the more better.
