Three last:

Severance - Much better than I expected, in the Hostel vein only funny.

Disturbia - Was disappointed, no where near Hitchcock.

The Bourne Ultimatum - Super action, hope they keep the franchise going.

Mary Poppins. I forgot how much I LOVED this film until I saw it on TV last year (although I feel it slows down a bit near the end). Went and bought the DVD this year. Still have lots of bonus stuff to watch.

Disney Treasures: Disneyland Secrets, Stories and Magic. I've only watched the first disc but I've loved what I've seen so far.

Surf's Up. Not bad but not something I'd bother seeing again.

Laura

These are the three i saw today.

1. JU-ON ( The Grudge )

Japanese movie best watched alone in the dark about dead spirits killing off the living. This will really creep you out.

2. Exorcist: The Begining.

It's ok but nothing to get excited about.

3. Death Note.

Japanese again. This is superb and is about a guy finding a book owned by death that if he writes someone's name in it they die.
He starts killing off all the criminals who escape justice but as the police try to track him down his good intentions start getting blurred.
I cannot praise this enough and you should get the dvd now. Clap

Of the 4 so far from Christmas

The Bourne Ultimatum - Excellent and fits well with the previous

POTC At Worlds End - Oh dear. They really shouldn't have ... I understand utterly why Dr Kermode ranted about this

The Sarah Jane Adventures - Invasion of the Bane - Elizabeth Sladen Luv You back in full swing as Sarah Jane Smith but without the tin dog

Dr Who Complete series 3 - I can see a couple of the discs wearing out quickly as this is the best of the revived Who seasons so far

Ah well Rome season 2, Torchwood season 1 and the Doctor Who - The Complete Davros collection still to go

I have seen a few lately. Here are the last three:

Bladerunner: The Final Cut - Amazing movie. My gf actually bought me the special 5-disc collector's set for Christmas! The set came in a cool plastic briefcase with 5 discs, a lenticular magic motion thing, booklet, conceptual art cards, mini replica of the cop car, and a tiny little silver chrome Unicorn origami figure! One of my favorite movies of my youth and one of the very first "R" rated movies I ever saw! Thumb Up

A Christmas Story : I have literally seen this movie in its entirety dozens of times. Absolutely love this one!

Davey and Goliath: The local Target was selling 5 episode volumes of this for only a buck each! I got all three volumes. One of those shows you watched as a kid and can still remember all the voices and storylines. Cool and kinda creepy at the same time. Smile

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby: I'm a big Will Ferrell fan and this is one the better films from him.

Employee of the Month: It's about a slacker, his friends and the new girl working in a Supermarket. Very funny and well made I liked it alot.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang: Very well made modern Film Noir. I'm not big of Robert Downey Jr but I liked him in this.

Vancancy - I LOVE THIS MOVIE. It had me on the edge of my seat in hot sweats! I haven't been scared at a horror/thriller movie in a long time. This was original and excellently done.

Children of Men - What a load of old rubbish. I was expecting a big American blockbuster, and I got a dud Brit flick with poor acting and a very loosely put together plot. The movie explained absolutely nothing about the situation it was set in, and didn't care about informing the audience either. I watched the whole thing in a bored state of cluelessness.

Dead Poets Society - I kinda liked it, but it was a little dull. It didn't inspire me in the way I was hoping it would.

XO Olly.

Midnight Madness - I watch this a few times a year. It's pure golden movie magic...and tons of fun to watch. Hail Leon!

Inside the Tale of the Fox: The Eric Carr Story - Very independently made, but chronicles his life beautifully nonetheless.

Dawn of the Dead (1978) - Romero at his best.

I just started watching the X-Files.

I saw until season 4 or 5 on television.

But I've bought me the limited edition box with all the seasons in it. So this will be a lot of X-files the coming months.

Spy Kids Good, fun movie

The Departed - Infernal Affairs with a bigger budget and (in some cases) slightly better acting. Can't decide which is better though. Both are excellent anyway.

300 - wasn't expecting much but turned out to be a really good movie.

Simpsons: Season 10 - regardless of what some people may say, this is still a great season of the show. I will admit that the celeb obsessed episodes are the weakest.

I recently watched A Nightmare On Elm Street and Galaxy Quest while working on commissions. I'm not a big fan of Slasher films but the first A Nightmare On Elm Street was one of the better, more original ones.

I just got a new region free DVD player so I decided to watch some Region 2 DVDs I watched the first disc of Honey West and the first disc of The Invaders. I don't know why Honey West only ran one Season. Anne Francis won the Golden Globe for best actress and was nominated for the Emmy. My only complaint is that the half hour format sometimes makes the story feel rushed.
I'm enjoying the Invaders also. It holds up pretty good for a 40 year old scifi show. It helps that the emphasis was on the story and not the special effects.
