Was tidying up recently & came across 3 DVD's I'd forgotten I had:

1. The Shawshank Redemption (actually I can't remember who I borrowed this from, & they haven't asked for it back (hoorah!)).

2. Fahrenheit 451

and lastly...

3. Kind Hearts & Coronets (of thankfully lighter tone than the last 2)

All 3 great films, and a pleasure to watch again (and again and again if necessary). Smile

Kind Heart & Coronets is a wonderful film - an all time great and a permanent fixture in my personal all time top 10.

A great choice? I just hope Hollywood never attemps to 'reimagine' it.

1. Terminator 3.

Did not think much of this at the cinema and yet really enjoyed it at home. This happens to me a lot, must be down to expectation.

2. Man Behind the Sun.

This had a lot to say about the treatment of chinese prisoners by the japanese in the experimental camps during the war. Unfortunatly the film is not well made and comes across as a bit of a mess.

3. Day of the Woman ( crassly retitled I Spit on your Grave ).

This could and should have been a great film about a womans right to vengence after being raped, unfortunatly a shoestring budget and amaturish acting lets it down. The lead role of the woman however is superbly acted.

Clerks II
Had it's moments but overall it was Kevin Smith trying too hard and failing to get back the humour from the original.

Lucky Number Slevin
Daft title aside, this is a really good movie. If you're watching closely you'll catch the twists before they happen but I was in a lazy brain mood at the time so they all hit at the right time for me.

Supernatural Season 1
Well I'm only halfway through this but I'm thouroughly enjoying it. I passed this by on it's original release but saw the complete season for £16 and thought I'd give it a try.

Premonition - I don't know how to describe it. I liked it and I cried (of course) but the ending just didn't seem right.

GhostRider - um, yeah.

Constantine - I think I'm just addicted to this movie lol

It's bad isn't it, lol. I fell asleep watching it in the cinema.

My last 3 DVD's...

Zodiac - Interesting but an hour too long.

Disturbia - I quite enjoyed this film, very much like The Burbs but with a modern twist.

Strangers With Candy Season 1 - My sister has been begging me to watch it, I've seen the first couple episodes and like it so far. I've been told it gets better too.

Good Night and Good Luck- Fantastic work by one of my all time favorite actors, David Strathairn. He did a fine job in this one.

The Thin Red Line- saw this one for the first time since I originally saw it in the theater years ago. Well done, poignant movie about the effect of combat and military life on soldiers and officers. Surprisingly fewer battle scenes than you might expect.

Austin Powers: The Spy who Shagged Me- I know, it is not an Oscar-type movie, but I still laugh at Doctor Evil a lot. Big Grin

I saw this in the cinema, it took me until half way through the following week for me to understand the twists and turns. Great film though.

You are so right. I never want to go through the pain of watching Ghost Rider again. Shame too because I do really like Nicholas Cage.

I've been thinking of getting Zodiac on my NetFlix list - an hour too long? Well, I'll still give it a shot.

Hey Jane, if you like Strathairn, check out his work in Eight Men Out and Matewan. He had supporting roles in both of these John Sayles movies. Phenomenal actor. Honestly, I have never seen him give anything less than an outstanding performance in everything he has been in. Thumb Up
