Liked it and thankfully Lee Evans was relatively under control Big Grin

Not a bad ending for Lady Christina either

This was without doubt one of the worst dr who episodes of recent years, i cannot come up with one thing to recommend it.

When they said it was a special they obviously were not talking about the content. Shake Head

Really...I thought it much less padded and better plotted than the Christmas special with the Cyberking. It really rattled along from the Pink Panther/Mission Impossible start right to the end

It was a good idea to show for once an enemy which wasn't evil but just obeying natural spawning instincts

It was good to see UNIT in action rather than the stultifying command based events of the Sontaran episodes

It was good to see UNIT personnel actually behaving as if they were in awe of the Doctor

It was good to see the chemistry between the two leads - much better than with say Rose or Martha

And another good back-story reference to the Doctor stealing the Type 40 TT Capsule

Wow. Just... wow. That has to be the worst hour of television I have watched since I watched the first episode of "Demons".

I never realized Michelle Ryan was such a poor actress, I think I must have been blinded by her other "assets" but she was truly dreadful. The guest cast was uniformly atrocious, but Lee Evans gave the most embarrassing performance I have ever seen in Doctor Who, and I have seen every existing episode. Wow.

I also wasn't impressed. Just thought it was a poor story, not much happened. Frown

I thought it was a load of Rubbish - very disappointing and frankly Stupid. The "hero worship" from the UNIT captain (who was VERY POOR) and the Lee Evans character (Who IMO was Rubbish) was pathetic. Worst David Tennant Dr Who (in My opinion)

Oh, I wouldn't go *that* far. It's no "Fear Her" or "42". But, yeah, it was pretty lackluster. I may be in the minority on this, but I thought Lee Evans was one of the few saving graces of the episode. Tennant does his usual excellent job but he has scant little to work with.

I enjoyed it - I was away for Easter weekend with my family (including my Doctor Who mad nephew) and luckily there was a TV so we were allowed to watch the show!
OK, so it wasn't the strongest episode so far, but I enjoyed Lee Evans and thought it was good to see the Unit officer previously seen in "Turn Left" makea reappearence - the UNIT officers have tended to not make return visits for one reason or another in the 'new' series so it was nice to see her as a bit of continuity (though it would have been even nicer to see The Brigadier (retired) pop up sometime before the end of the Tennant era)

Let's face it, the episode was little more than a stop-gap until the three episodes over Christmas, when I suspect we'll see a lot more of the trademark over the top plotting RTD tends to do.
Au REs.,

Just a quick reminder that David Tennant returns this afternoon as the Doctor in a new SJA 2 part episode. "The Wedding Of Sarah Jane Smith" 4:35 - 5:00pm on BBC1 and BBC1HD.
The 2nd part is tomorrow.

Not a bad episode and now The Trickster must be a full canon element of the Whoniverse

Shame Nicholas Courtney wasn't present but I believe he had a stroke in January and that put paid to the wedding, some commentaries and BBC Audios with Tom Baker. I hear he has made a good recovery and was able to attend the Regenerations convention in September

Is anyone else a tad suspicious about the girl named Rani from across the road, with a name like that and she just happens to live across the road from Sarah Jane. Methinks she maybe in possession of a strange looking watch!

Anyone else dissapointed with the airing of these specials?
It's bad enough only having 4 instead of a series, but they show one at easter, and then cram the last 3 into 2 months.
Not impressed!

Wasn't that already the case? The Trickster got a namecheck in "Turn Left" when The Doctor suggested that the bug thing was one of The Tricksters...
