ABC is only going to show four episodes of its V remake this year before taking the show off the air until spring, following a complete halt in production earlier this year. ABC says the other nine episodes will eventually be shown, but TV insiders are apparently telling Variety the series' 13 episode order might get cut down:

Decision to launch the show with a four-episode sampler led to rumblings Thursday night and Friday morning that the show's episodic order had been reduced - something both ABC and producer Warner Bros. TV vehemently denied. Show will still produce 13 episodes this year, they stressed.

It's too bad V is having so many problems because a lot of people who have seen the pilot really like it, us included. Supposedly production on the show is going to start up again soon, so maybe by then they'll have worked out the kinks.

Why does ABC bother even investing in sci-fi shows if they're just going to keep screwing around with them? First they dump "Defying Gravity", now they're having second thoughts about "V" before it's even been on the air.

And the networks wonder why their viewers are switching to cable shows.

They would probably have a better following and make more money if they released it direct to DVD.

I can see ABC cutting the show completely if the first episodes aren't ratings successes -- and if that happens, will they bother to produce the rest of the season? If they only produce 4 or 5 episodes, I wonder if it will even hit dvd.

Too many shows are getting started and then held.........Kyle XY is one example. Great show and Robin Hood, 4400, and quite alot of others have ended before their time. What's next ??? Chuck ???? Leverage ???...........

Hustle is up to series 5 in the U.K. and Robert Vaughan has been in all of them.

It is one of my favorite shows.
