'Heroes': The Storylines That Went Nowhere
We tend to pick on "Heroes" for being a shadow of its first-season self, but that's not to say that they haven't developed some intriguing ideas or characters in the last few years. It's just that the show hasn't done enough with them. Here are the concepts that we actually liked and wished they'd delved into more: Molly- She was the kid with the power to find anyone in the world. Instead of actually letting her do something interesting with this ability, she was shipped off as soon as her surrogate fathers Mohinder and Parkman had something better to do. The Underground Railroad- Remember when Claire got a gig at comic book store as a front to help out evolved humans who were being hunted by the government? That lofty idea barely lasted an episode. Claude, the Invisible Man- Even though he was shot by HRG and then fell off a bridge, he could easily still be alive and would be far more worthy of a storyline than whatever water-filled Tracy does next. Peter's Girlfriend Caitlin- She was the Irish lass that Peter accidentally took to the future in season 2, at a point in time after a virus had devastated New York. She was deported to Ireland while Pete blipped back to the present day. So what happened to her? Shanti Suresh- Mohinder's sister is dead and had a virus named out of her, but she comes up so often that it just seems like there should be more to her story than a few casual mentions. Claire's Boyfriends- We get that Claire's a teenager and not every guy in her life is going to lead to a long-term commitment, but some resolution occasionally would be nice. Millie- When Angela was in trouble, she confided in her old friend Millie, borrowed some money, stole her umbrella and then left her there. If they were going to bring in a name actress like Swoosie Kurtz to play Millie, the least they could have done was give her character more to do than sit in a restaurant. Monica- We loved Monica and her adoptive muscle memory. In fact, it was one of the coolest powers that this show has ever showcased. Yet when Micah/Rebel returned to the show last season, Monica was nowhere to be found. Claire's Magic Blood- We learned that Claire can not only regenerate her own body parts, but also that her blood can be used to heal the sick. That's a twist with some cool potential, so why haven't they done more with it? Couldn't they have used her blood to save Nathan at the end of last season? |

many great questions you mentioned.
i always wonder about Sylar's powers that aren't used anymore... like the incredible hearing (where the person had to listen to music to drown out everything else) the incredibly fast learning (Charlie) and so on and so forth ____________________ Collecting Army of Darkness, Heroes, Family Guy, Bench Warmer, random sketches, random memorabilia, etc. |
