I'm not apologizing, as I agree with you, this one suffered the deadline crunch. I'm going to be on for Season 2, and I promise that those cards will be of much higher quality. Thanks for being honest! Smile

It's nice to see an artist who can admit that for whatever reason the cards aren't up their own personal standards. I'm sure no artist likes to see their cards among the lowest selling from a set, professional pride and healthy competition should be powerful motivators. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with series 2. Good luck with that set. Smokin'

Noah,

I have one of your Noah Bennets, and am happy with it. (I bought it; I didn't pull it).

I'd love to see what you can do for the next set.

I'm sure you aren't the first artist who got more cards than they should have had (meaning you were hurried to meet the deadline).
(heck, I know of at least 2 others that I'd bet $ on for this set, that they were hurried w/ too many to do)

Having looked at the above sketch, lmao it would have taken longer to sign it than draw it,
at least the signature is recognisable Frown

Hey guys! I never got around to sharing any scans here, but (BIG) thanks to Incarnadine ( Smile) y'all got see a sampling of a few of the pack-inserted sketches earlier in the thread. Really appreciated the great feedback, so thank you!! I posted the following on 'another' forum, but figured I'd post here as well. (This is by no means an advertisement, as I shy away from selling any of my returned cards privately). Razz

A little background info for anyone interested (if not, skip down to the scans! ). Ultimately I ended up with nine returned cards instead of the usual "six", due to an extended (and unexpected) engagement with these little monsters! Wink I know the collectors feel somewhat "cheated" when an artist puts their best work into their returned cards, leaving the pack-inserted sketches a little less desirable (not saying this is the case for every artist, but I'm going by what I've read on various forums regarding this subject). Having said that, hopefully you guys will forgive me for only achieving "full color" on these nine cards. My intention was to have a colored box in the middle, with a greyscale outside border for each image. Not anticipating an additional three cards, I wanted to make certain that all nine cards followed the same format (in hopes that there would be no distinction between those 3 and the original 6). The references weren't exactly what I wanted to use, but I was falling way behind and completed the last of the initial six an hour before the cards were shipped back to Topps. The last three (from wave two) I had a little more time with, but I had to pick refs of images I used in the first wave that were already approved. Otherwise I'd have picked cards like the "autopsy Claire", "nuclear Sylar", "Niki / Jessica mirrored" or "nuclear Peter" as my returned cards.

(and hopefully this all makes sense as I'm typing this pretty quickly!! Wink)

In any event, I wasn't happy with my first round of scans on these, so I wanted to wait until I actually got them back in my possession to do some re-scanning:

To be completely honest, I really think some of my pack-inserted sketches turned out much better than a few of these, but oh well... I suck, what can I say?! Roll Eyes

Now that's the understatement of the year! You're HORRIBLE!
Twak
haha

anyways, those are INCREDIBLE sketches! Can't believe you were able to capture the essence of all the characters in a 2.5x3.5 space!

Great job SP!

Those compliments are absolutely well deserved Sean. You are an incredible sketch artist. One of the best in my opinion with a constant quality in your work. I wish I had the money to buy this one from the bay:

Well, I can always buy another box of Heroes and try to pull one! Keep up the good job!! Thumb Up

Eek Love that!
I watched a colored one of her go for a high price. I don't remember who the artist was, though. These are the types of artists I try to get sketches from as the artwork is just amazing.
My case should be here next week...hopefully I'll get something of that quality in mine Big Grin
