I've only just begun collecting cards in the past 3 months. What happened with those Lost sets?

Boxes and cases are mostly sold out everywhere. I expect when the set is released next week, those unopened boxes/cases value will rise even more.

I am absolutely stoked that this product is coming out next week finally!!! I locked up my 2 cases of this product in September. This is my first purchase of non-sports in any real quantity ( 1 box 2 Boxes DC Legacy and 1 Marvel Masterpieces). I have been keeping an eye on the sketches for this set and i am absolutely impressed. Amazing!

so everybody is excited about sketch cards.. has the value of sketch cards more then autographs now,. or is it just for the love and passion...

kind of thinking what to aim for.. and hope for.. ahaha...

Not really excited about the odds....looks like 4-5 costumes per case, 2-3 sketch cards, and 1-2 autographs

Thanks for the graphic update on the pack odds. Does this mean any of this is out there yet?

Personally I don't mind the odds. I expected the value to run from the autos down to the costumes.

Best Always,
VinnyH

Wow, the odds are far from expectations. Most of us believed that with increased sketch card #'s (from 3000 original projection to over 6000 ) that the sketch cards would be 4-5 case , auto.'s 2-3 and costume cards the case chase. Seems like they took the 4 costume pieces a LONG way with current odds having a case yield 4-5. Guess they were unable to secure a high number of auto.'s from any of the cast members and the sketch cards???? Am I alone on being confused by these odds

Sure looks that way. It happened with Star Wars 30th, but hang-on, wasn't this set touted as 1 sketch or 1 auto or 1 costume per box? What happened to that?

Actually, the odds combine so that there are just about 8 "hits" per case on average.

True, Topps' collation problems might screw up several boxes like they did with SW30, but in general, there should be one memorabilia, autograph, or sketch card per box based on the odds.

From distributors recent solicitation for new cases and pre-orders:
2007 Topps HEROES Series 1 8 Box Case for $350
2 Case lot for $650
(Live 01/23)
SOLD OUT AT TOPPS !
24 Packs per Box...7 Cards per Pack...Entire first season inpremium 90-card series with multiple levels of collectible inserts: Dual-image foil cards, Sketch cards, Memorabilia, and Autographs
1 AUTO, SKETCH or MEMORABILIA in EVERY BOX !!!

So , what the heck happened - isn't this a serious misrepresentation of product ( I am speaking of Topps ofcourse as dealers were only relaying info given to them by Topps)

Dual-image foil cards

I thought I saw a sell sheet that had the foil cards only in retail boxes. It isn't a bad thing to have them in hobby cases, I'm just confused. Smile

Best to All,
VinnyH

Per 8-box case, based on the odds:

24 packs/box x 8 boxes/case = 192 packs/case

Autograph (1:135 packs) = 192/135 = 1.422222
Sketch (1:86 packs) = 192/86 = 2.232558
Memorabilia (1:44 packs) = 192/44 = 4.363636

Total = 1.422222 + 2.232558 + 4.363636 = 8.018416

So, doing some fun math, there should be 24pk/box and 8 bx/case. That means a total of 192 packs. This would mean on rough average 1.4 autos, 2.2 sketches and 4.4 costumes, which equal 8 items per 8 boxes.

So playing some more with the numbers, I would say you will get 4 costumes, 2 sketches, 1 auto with a 61.3% chance of another auto, 21.5% chance of another sketch, and a 17.2% chance of another costume.

I guess we will have to wait until there are some case breaks until we see how things really shake out.

I would not necessarily mind getting a 5th costume card if it meant that I got the Claire patch varient along with the full set of the others.

Odds will be over the full run so you could get a case with all costumes. In my star wars 30th case odds were 4/4 but I got 1/7 nearly all autos.

I just busted through my 5 cases. I will not post any pictures or anything, but the Claire patch costume is the hardest to get (I did not pull one) followed by the Claire Costume, then the Hiro shirt/Issac Shirt.

I pulled 8/11 autos. Missing Adrian Pasdar, Noah Gray-Cabey, and of course Hayden Panettiere. Have an extra of Sendhil. It should also be known that Hiros signature is prob going to tick some people off, just a little mark really. Also, Milo did not sign his entire name like the sample on the Topps site, he only signed Milo. I am a little let down by this. I definetly did not do well with my cases. My sketches were pretty awful, I only pulled two or three that were really detailed, and although Color is NOT the norm (I know) I did not pull a single color sketch. All of my sketches are for trade and will go up on Ebay to go towards the three missing autos and the impossible patch card. I will get scans up after the weekened, I do not want to tick anyone off by breaking the street date.
