Overkill IMHO.
Presumably the Classic Series material is possible because the licence has been relinquished by Strictly Ink? |

I've just started collecting these B.I.T sets and I really like the cards.
What with Strictly Ink no longer having the licence and Inkworks still not able to give a release date I can get my Who fix with this !! |

As the BIT mag only runs for 2 years and is getting towards that time, presumably this will be the last Booster Set release???

Wolfie I only started collecting the BIT cards after seeing the Bond ones. If you like Bond and you liked the format of the BIT cards I think you will like the Bond Spy Cards. I think there will be more expansion sets. At least one more for Who Series 4 me thinks. |

There'll only be a Series 4 release if BIT extend or renew their licence.

How many sets are there of Dr W Battles in Time? And which sets cover which eras in the show? How far have they gotten into the New Series?
Thanks! ____________________ I like the Peter Cushing movies. |

I seem to remember reading somewhere that there were 92 issues planned for BiT magazine(Icould be wrong) at one a fortnight that's just under 4 years. Any way as David Tennant is taking the year off next year, I guess another expansion in the autumn might be the last.

Oo'er I wonder if they'll have the maggots from The Green Death, they'd make a good glow in the dark card, I had nightmares for months after them.

The Ultimate Monsters set will be the fourth set so far, the other being Exterminator (275 Cards), Annihilator (100 Cards) and Invader (225 Cards). All of the sets have sequential numbering from 1-600 so I assume the new set at 225 cards will be numbered from 601-825. Also another subset was released of Daleks vs Cybermen which were numbered from 1-18, but there were 4 different version of cards 17 and 18 so a total of 24 cards were available in that set. Additional to the first three sets is the ultra rare Golden Rose card which was the most difficult card to get with 1 of these in a 1000 packs. The first issue came with a Psychic Paper card and a later special issue called the "Invader Special" had an exclusive binder and a "Dalek Blaster" lenticular card. So all in there should be approximately 827 cards in a master set not including variant and error cards.
A test run of the cards was released in 2 areas of the country prior to these 4 sets. It was only availiable for approximately 14 weeks and consisted of a Exterminator deck with only 85 cards in it and a Golden Rose and Psychic Paper card. The test set cards have 2 variants compared to the national set which were card numbers 20 and 42. The Exterminator Deck covered Series 1 and 2 of the new series. The Annihilator Deck was based around the Christmas Invasion episode with a few cards from Series 1 and 2 and the Invader Deck covered mainly Series 3 but with a few odd cards from series 1 and 2. Daleks vs Cybermane was exclusively Dalek and Cybermen cards oddly enough. I think the old series has been introduced to extend the set during the gap year for Doctor Who on TV and would not be suprised if the licence was extended. Originally Battles in Time was due to run for 52 issues and the latest one in the UK is issue 37, released on the Wednesday just gone. This message has been edited. Last edited by: jaseb, |

Can a BIT subscriber tell me, do you get a free pack of cards with every issue or was that only available with the early issues?
Thanks |

It's 2 years worth of issues (the length of the licence), making 52 in total. Many Who collectors I know have just about given up on these because there are now so many, and some are very difficult to get. That's why I'm not convinced that another booster set (and one that's not directly tied in to the new Season either) is a good idea. I'll stick with 'em though. I've got this far with a full set. |

Didn't BIT get the licence for the New Series initially as at that time Strictly Ink had the licence for the 1963-96 series ?
It does explain why the local "Martins" newsagent has suddenly found more boxes of Invader |

Every Mag comes with a pack of cards, at the moment those are invader cards, but it will change over from march to the new set. As has been stated the license was granted for 52 issues one to be released every 2 weeks. This is almost without a doubt going to be renewed as BIT has made them a god deal of cash. Expect a price rise in the cost of the mag after issue 52 if not sooner, it will be rising to £2.99 as the James Bond from the same publisher is now at this price.
No other card license will be issued for Doctor Who past or present in the UK now it would seem F&F have the master license. How extraordinarily depressing. |

I don't agree with you here. Dr Who has been done to death over the past years with Hobby sets. These cards are being collected by people of all ages, the kids are collecting them big time and if just some of these kids stray into the hobby side of things then that will be good for the future. ____________________ Come, it is time for you to keep your appointment with The Wicker Man. |
