I have still not yet received my order either.

If payment has been taken it will have gone through, plus you should have had an e-mail confirming the order

I've had the email to confirm the order but there's no record of the money being taken yet.

I would imagine the money will be taken when the order is dispatched - SI usually only take the money at that time

Hi,

I just received a response from a non-NSU member who emailed strictly ink and claims to have received this response - word for word:

(they replied .no we do not have this autograph card.At this time gary sinise has changed his mind again .and is not siging.we continue to try and get him to change his mind again.we have no time line for this).

I can't really attest to the truth of this note - whether it actually came from Strictly Ink or not - the dude who emailed me is awaiting the NSU member approval process as we speak. But since he took the time to actually email me - it has made me decide to wait until actual auto cards surface - rather than buy a redemption.

If Barrie responds to my earlier questions or can confirm/deny if the above note is accurate - I will be more than happy to remove/edit the post.

Thanks!

As far as I am aware, strictlyink are waiting on the arrivals of his card and as soon as they get them, they will issue them out......
I don't think he would say yes, then later change his mind..... but then again what do I know?????
Well here's hoping anyway Smile

I hope he signs too - but based on this information, I'm not inclined to pay $80 for a redemption card that may or may not happen.

I usually don't mind redemptions as long as the cards are in the hands of the company, but just weren't able to be pack inserted.

It's another whole thing altogether to when the cards are not in hand, and factors beyond the control of myself, the issuing company, etc are left to decide whether the card will be signed or not.

I don't think redemption cards should be used in this manner as it shakes customer confidence.

Just my 2 cents...

I suspect that his agent authorized the deal but he was the one who backed out. (Some creative artists consider trading cards to be kid's stuff that's beneath their perceived level of dignity.)

In partial defense of the cardmaker, there are a lot of reasons why stuff can be delayed until after they start having to seal packs. If they had a contract with the agency or with the artist directly, technically it's legally binding and the cards "must" show up. But when you're dealing with celebrities, sometimes that doesn't help very much.

My 2 cents is that this use of a redemption card isn't much different *for box and case sales* from advertising a signer on the sell sheet, having that influence pre-orders, and then saying "due to circumstances beyond our control, X's autograph will not be included in this product." Some card companies still post auto lists on their websites that are inaccurate long after the set is released.

All of that can shake customer confidence, but we really only notice it when the missing item might have been a major reason to order the product in the first place.

I agree that the redemption card issue is different, as underlined by this current discussion. The cards are pulled from packs and advertised for sale, and there isn't an "if it arrives as promised" printed on them. There is, sort of, but that message isn't repeated in seller or auction descriptions. I wouldn't bid on one after reading CardTalk either, if I really wanted this specific card or I couldn't feel confident that the replacement would make me just as happy.

HI all, at this time I expect Gary to be able to return the cards to us, hopefully signed, of course if it turns into an issue later, rest assured any replacement will knock your socks off, we are looking at a holographic option and also the best sketch card artist in the business to do a unique sketch card also. You guys have no faith! Thanks so much for supporting this new release, we have a lot of happy people. Finally, the last retail web boxes have shipped, with all the special 3 for 2 deals and other options on this projects, the sorting of it was a nightmare for those who work on retail. Same here no sign of my box yet. And there will be no sign of it until next week.
Just received this email:

Hi Alan

We have not charged your credit card as yet as we have gone out of
stock on CSI new York boxes.
We try to not charge if we cannot ship, for obvious reasons.
Your order will ship next week.

Elisabeth

Mad I'll wait and see if it does.

Alan, this would not be what Elisabeth would have written, the first 200 boxes are always set aside first for our web buyers so we would not run out of stock ever for our pre-order and web buyers! All orders have now shipped so do get in touch with me if you don't have it in the next few days for whatever reason, thank you. Barrie - Strictly Ink

That's exactly what the email said. If you wish I'll forward you a copy. But here is the full email as I received it the only thing I've removed is the order number and my email address:

I have still not received my order as of today February 11th and have emailed Barrie requesting a full refund. I paid for this order via Paypal on Barrie's site and did not notice initially that I was charged slightly more than the price quoted on his site. Added to that the delay in receiving the order i have told Barrie I am not prepared to wait any longer. It appears to me that if you only order a small amount you are the last one to be bothered with.

I have bought lots of Strictly Ink product in the past but I will just wait until I see it on dealer tables at shows. It will probably be a lot cheaper as well.
