I saw a real nice Spiderman by the Glebes while sampling the sketches on that auction site.

However in general, I thought the quality of the sketch art was certainly no better, and on average arguably worse, than what has been made available in other less costly Marvel sketch based products.

So that right there is your problem. The cards are priced high end, but the sketches don't support a Masterpiece title and the other factors added to the base set cards aren't going to make up for the difference.
