Welcome David,

Thank you for taking the time to monitor our thread for production errors and complaints. I am wondering if this is the flyer you are talking about? I have never seen a flyer stating "9 hits per case", just this one stating one per box at equal ratios. Can you show me this other flyer? Or can you please explain to us how you intend to make good on both of your "guarantees"?

Thank you for your time,
Nevets

Looks like David is going to be very busy. Something must have gone terribly wrong when the boxes were packed!! You're either going to be hugely disappointed with your case or on the other extreme, you'll do very, very well. As a UK buyer I'm just a bit nervous as sending a package to Topps could end up being very costly just to get the inserts you should have got originally. And they're not going to start sending dual autographs and other limited cards, probably just the average inserts that you've already got.

I have 2 cases coming over the pond and I am still looking forward to opening them.

It's a great shame about the packaging problems but we have a Topps rep. assuring us that the guarantee will be honoured which never happened before.

I think if Topps can find a competent company to do there packaging they will be fine.Honestly they ought to sue the company that did this set as it's going to cost Topps a lot of time and money to sort out as well as the bad publicity.

i'll be honest.

I expect 4 of each insert from Topps for my dud boxes. I had 12 dud boxes, and if all the inserts were inserted equally doesn't that mean I should get an equal amount of each insert to make up for the 12 missing ones?

Bryan,

I would suggest asking for that distribution on your replacements . Also, how are they possibly going to replace all of these dud boxes. I know they have a surplus of inserts on hand for these kinds of issues but this is such an outrageous screw-up how could they possibly have this many inserts ?

E-mail all the people pulling 14 hits a case and ask for the extra back Razz

Not sure, but I got my package out USPS Overnight (cost me $30) so that if they do run out of replacements it won't happen to me.

I did not ask for exactly what I thought was fair for replacements, but I included in the letter that I only recieved four autographs and I bolded four so hopefully that sticks out.

Very interesting to watch prices on the auction sites for season 2. There were quite a few cards listed with no bids a day or so ago but since people have been posting case breaks on various boards the auto's in particular have been attracting a lot of interest and many are already at much higher prices than I originally thought they would sell for.

I still think it's a bit early to make an accurate judgement of what the rarest cards will turn out to be but there appears to be some panic bidding going on.

The two rarest autos (from what I can tell) are Ali Larter and Dana Davis

I've been following Card Talk for a couple of years, but have never joined....until now. However, I am not new to non-sports. I have a been a dealer of exclusively non-sports cards since the 1980s and I break about 95% of all non-sports titles that come out. I just opened 6 cases of Heroes Volume 2. The "odds" say I should have received 54 hits. Here is what I got:
1 dual costume
19 costumes
19 sketches
43 autographs
82 total hits (13.67 per case). I wonder if geography has anything to do with where the good cases (and bad cases) ended up? I am in CA.

Just touching on something someone said. Where on earth are Topps going to get all the autos from to make good on this gaurantee.

With loads going in some cases and none in others this will be a massive amount needed and will not be covered by the few they keep back for damages.

Wow. It only took THREE shoddy releases before Topps acknowledged the bad collation in their recent products. I think Topps knew they had better step up when even Bryan Shaffer could no longer defend Topps! Razz

Then again, the autos are stickers... they probably have many more on reserve for future releases. They just need to slap'em on new cards.

Sad, but true.

It certainly looks like it was the autographs that have the main collation problem.Costumes and sketches appear to be in the ballpark of 3 per case if not perfect.

Just finished busting 3 cases, which I will post in the other section later this weekend after I scan the cards.

Here is a quick breakdown on what I pulled:
3 cases/ 24 boxes
5 Dud boxes
4 Hot boxes
6 Sketch cards all nice quality
5 Autographs
12 Costume cards
1 Autographed Costume card
Nice looking set with improved sketch cards, more costumes cards and some new signers. All in all a solid product, especially if Topps comes through on their promise to make-up for the dud boxes, and I'm not talking some bogus special foil card.

I hope it's not a regional bias as my two cases are coming from the east coast, one New York and one florida Eek .
