From my own past experiences, Battles in Time has never been a set to try to complete from opening boxes. The collation is just too bad.

I know dealers who have opened 10+ boxes and still had commons missing.

I've opened a box for the fun of it, but have done the rest through swaps on the collecting network.
Thumb Up

Saved a bag of money that way too. Metal

Card 640 is the one you want then. Giant Maggott.

Have tosay this is a set I can buy into. The monsters I personally remember, Zygons, Ice Warriors, Vervoids, Sontarans (soon to make a comeback) and cybermen who didnt have fairings on their legs. Best of all though has to be several cards with Davros on. Surely one villain who needs to return to the new series.

Or intentional collation. Same as no more cheap issue 1's.
I think there onto the card collectors mass purchasing tactics.

THey cost more because there a 4 packs per mag not the normal 2, but as wolfies don't buy things wolfies wouldn't know

I'm not really a Dr Who fan, but the Monsters are pretty cool, so i picked up 2 packs. Found a Omega (Projection) SR card, which is pretty cool cos it glows in the dark. But reading what info sci Fi planet has given us and how insanely difficult is sounds to complete, i think i'll pass.

I am, however, intrigued as to what the golden ticket card is and does...if anything. has anyone seen one? or know what it does?

I found one of the special four packs at Smiths in Burton.

Nice cards although didnt find anything particularly rare. What these really need is a binder. They gave away a tin instead of something useful with the Bond ones. I just hope the produce a decent binder for these.

I just use one of the generic Battles in Time albums that was given away with the previous release. Thumb Up

Got the Giant Maggot. Big Grin

Have to say the Daleks in the new series are substantially more dangerous than the were in the old series, whereas the Cybermen are much weaker maybe it is because they are from a different universe. As an aside I once saw an early picture/sketch of C3P0 in a documentary and he had the same type of bar going over the head as the cybermen!

Stephen123: Whilst I know what you mean about the fire power and all-round invincibility of the New Series Daleks, I must say in the defence of the Classic Series Daleks that they were never more dangerous than when they were scheming and plotting in "Evil of the Daleks" and "Power of the Daleks". IMHO.

C3PO did look like the Fritz Lang robot in his early development and I know what you mean re looking like a cyberman.

Davros has one of the best ratings too in the set and the strange thing is the "classic" Master, Roger Delgardo isnt in it ! Or Anthony Ainley either.

Only the "modern" Masters and the decrepit one. Confused I'm guessing they either didnt have the rights to ones other than those they have shown or didnt want to cofuse the kids with loads of Dr's and Masters ! Daft thing is the Bond set has all the Bonds in but no cards with the Dr's faces on.
