I had all 27 Quantum costume's in an archive box and there was no agent fields ( Gemma Arterton) I WANT AN AGENT FIELDS COSTUME Razz
I also think its time for a new style chase/insert card, etched foil or something, great to hear there are more femme fatales coming (cigar girl was on coming check list last time but ended up not being one of the nine)
and are we finally going to get a Scarpin (Patrick Bauchau) bond villain card ?

I am looking forward to the the Vintage Bond VB6 to finish off that chase set and with it being a case card it will be easy to source. I fell maybe it doesn't offer the best value as a case card though. Sure its a nice card, but after all the props, autos, and costume case toppers, one b&w chase card seems a bit 'inkworks' if you know what I mean. No big deal but I guess RA has spoiled us over the years.

The 3-case Aston Martin wing sounds another great card and go very well with the windshield prop from Archives.

Good to see the 9-case card is not a regular card per se, more of a card for completests.

I couldnt agree more about the case topper. as far as relics and costumes go they are not my thing I am more of an auto guy.

I'm more of an auto collector too but you can't deny that RA have made some very nice prop/costume cards as case toppers over the years (only one auto: Patrick Macnee). A piece of Aston Martin Windshield is about as good a case topper as it gets IMO. The Vintage Bond VB6... not so much, albeit a very nice card in and of itself.

Quite optimistic about this set. My only wish is that we get a few more interesting relic/prop cards. I think there has just been a few too many of the high volume costume cards in recent sets.
Good suggestion on something like the foils. It would also be good if there was a few super limited high end pulls. Maybe film cast cards, with multiple signatures etc? or even different levels of foil chase art like you get with Topps?

I'm sorry, but what would be good about having "a few super limited high end pulls"?

The majority of Very Limiteds cost enough as it is, there is no need for anything to be artificially rare.

Besides, Topps is not the model to follow when it comes to trading cards. If it were we'd no doubt have 10 cards each of the Brosnan and Craig auto spread out across 15,000+ boxes, and they'd be on stickers. Parrallels are about as boring as it gets when it comes to chase cards IMO. I'm far more excited to see what RA has in store with their new "Bond...James Bond" chase set.

To be fair, I tend to agree on most of your points. RA autos are much better than the stickers in my opinion.

Hey X,

Judging by your avatar you must be pleased that we are getting a Brosnan auto? Ritenhouse have done a really good job of getting Pierce to sign, as I had a few doubts on this one.

Just need Timothy Dalton now. I really love The Living Daylights, easily in my top 5 Bond films, probably top 3 actually. The acting by Dalton is superb in that film. Would love to see him sign one day.

As for Connery, I can't see this happening, so it doesn't really bother me too much!

OK - I know this is silly to ask (again), but what is the theme for this set? Is it just a name to get more Bond out there this year? Or is there some sort of theme to the base set?

Rittenhouse Archives have listed the autograph list,i m not going to moan there (already in steve's bad books) but I have to say, after this long wait,it's very disappointing that there are only 16 full bleed autographs,2 years ago Bond Archives had 33 last year Heroes and Villains had 30,16 after a year wait to ad to your waiting collection doesn t really get there, and with the next bond scheduled for November 2012 release, and that means no Anniversary set for 18 months then, lifes is too short.

In summary we are getting:
19 x 40th style autos
16 x full bleed autos
2 x Women of Bond autos
1 x double auto

Personally I think 38 autos is a MUCH more palitable number than 60+ for most collectors. Big names/significance of role seems a little less consistent than we have had before (Complete Bond will always be my favourite) but we have a nice spread of decent characters, the more obscure that will appeal to real fans and a couple of real biggies.

I don't see a large set (60+ autos) being obtainable if it included both Brosnan and Craig which will no doubt be $400+ cards EACH. Master set collectors (and full-bleed collectors) would struggle to afford it. It seems to me that the very high-end expensive cards (Brosnan & Craig) balance out the smaller number of full bleeds.
Whilst you may bemoan there are not enough full bleeds for your liking, look what just which full-bleeds collectors are getting(!): Brosnan , Craig , Stephens, Zerbe, Madsen, Paluzzi and RA has gone back and filled in some holes with signers originally only available on 40th cards in the Quotable Bond e.g. Wyman, Moreno, Cameron, Carter.

Some could argue that the 40th collectors are getting the short end of the stick... how many years will we be waiting to see a Craig autograph (when full-bleed collectors have had 2 already!)? Or Brosnan for that matter? I'm sorry but I can't feel sorry for you because you are not getting Marilyn Galsworthy et al. as full bleeds immediately. You can't have everything and RA can't please everyone with their auto selections.

Plus we need to consider that the more signers RA does track down and tick off the list, the more difficult it is for RA to produce larger sets in the future.

Not to mention we have a decent and sizable selection of new relic cards to collect as well!

As a 40th collector I am VERY pleased that 15 of the 19 signatures are 100% new. Probably most excited to get Ricky Jay, Colin Salmon, and Samantha Bond on the WOB card style and I am very interested to see the new "Bond, James Bond" chase set: a new chase set at last!

Hi X,my moan was,how many, not who, although I was looking forward to full bleeds of
Andreas Wisniewski, Anne Lomberg and i ve already got my space ready for Anatole Taubman, Elvis in Quantum in my book,i was planning on an archive box (thats why i moan)but it ardly seems worth that now for 16 inc Lana Wood repeat
so now I may get a case,my last case (by the way) was a dieaster,5 full bleed very limited (alright I wasn t expecting Daniel Craig) but I didn t have any,the only very limited I had was the Olga K 40th,then someone here tried to offer a swap for 3 minor cards, knowing about my case misery (like I came down in the last shower)
So i ll have to get a case and hope for swaps for the full bleeds i don t get,Brosnan + Craig i ll probably get on ebay,$400 is a bit optimistic though,i paid over £300 for the last daniel craig.

notice there are no double up (same signer in both styles) and there are no same signers on one and the other, there appears to be an hold back plan afoot Wink

oh well as shirley manson said, the auto cards theres not enough, but it is a perfect place to start my love

and for the record as a full bleed collector i ve now offically stopped holding my breath for Patrick Bauchau,Corinne Clery and Ursula Andress

Am pleased to see the checklist is out nice and early, and it looks like a set which should offer something to please all. I agree a great deal with what "X" had to say, in particular that fans of the full-bleed autographs should have nothing to be unhappy about. All the "big names" in this set are in full-bleed style, not just Brosnan and Craig, but also Ferzetti, Madsen, Stephens, Zerbe and Paluzzi. At this rate, fans of the 40th style autographs will probably have been waiting 3 years before they finally get the opportunity to own a Daniel Craig autograph...but that's just the way things have worked out!

As a die-hard Bond fan, I have to say that the list of 40th Ann autographs is pretty good, although I can only really see it pleasing the "committed" Bond fan. Most of those names will be unknown to the "occasional" Bond fan. Even I had to look up to find out who Bogdan Kominowski was.

Will be interested to know what the John Wyman (inside) and Albert Moses (front) autographs are all about. Perhaps variants??

And in response to "chief brody", I feel certain there is, at the very least, a Corinne Cléry full-bleed. I wouldn't get your hopes up for an Ursula Andress, because at the time Rittenhouse had the good fortune of getting her to sign, full-bleeds hadn't yet been thought of. And I believe the problem with Patrick Bauchau is that there are no publicity stills of him in character, and screen grabs aren't of a high enough resolution to provide the image for a full-bleed card.
