Hi All:

Topps sent over some great Star Wars Galaxy 5 images to preview. Unfortunately, I only received the images and no more detail. They did not provide artists names so other then Matt Busch's piece (the first one), I'm not certain who the others are but I will have that info tomorrow and will update my post below. Star Wars Galaxy is one of my favorite lines so I'm a bit biased but I think these are really sharp!

Randy Martinez has announced that he will be providing the artwork for a 15 card foil set (one would assume that you will get the silver/bronze/gold variations as usual) as well as some of the base cards.

They are stunning. Thanks for posting them Harris - I'm looking forward to this set already !

Yes, this is true. I will be, or should I say have done 15 new pieces for the Foil Chase cards.
I don't know much about the variations. But I know a lot of thought has gone into what these cards look like front and back. I did a couple new images, just for the backs.

I was also informed I will have a few more trading cards for the base set!
I'll probably do some sketch cards for the set too.
I'm with you guys, I love the Galaxy 5 sets, and I am really honored to be part of it. Not just cuz it's cool, but because of the associated art like the art posted. I feel really lucky that I can call artists like Matt Busch and Terese Nielsen good friends. To share space with these great people is really special to me.

I'm pretty sure that Boba Fett was the artwork used on the backer card for Hasbro's Star Wars Unleashed Boba Fett Action Figure. All of those backer cards featured some nice artwork.

You are correct about the Unleashed artwork! I'm glad these are finally getting the card treatment.

There's going to be a 12 card subset covering most of Hasbro's Unleashed packaging art. This was all done by a fellow of the name of Clark Mitchell. I am pretty sure he has a website if anyone wants to check him out.

I can assure everyone here that QA has been stepped up since G4. The issue of the last line being left off absolutely will not happen again. Nor will we leave the first or any middle lines off.

Also, the foil cards will not be given the standard gold, silver, bronze treatment we've done in the past. The only parallel that will be carried over is prismatic. We're exploring some other colors and styles now that will better work with Randy's awesome artwork. These cards will conceptually remain the same, but have a much different look now.

Sounds cool Dave, I can't wait to see what you guys come up with.

Hello all, I haven't posted here in a while, so I just wanted to give an update...I am very excited to make an announcement regarding this set. I had submitted art last year to be used for Galaxy 4 but because of circumstances they were not able to fit it in. The good news? It has been accepted to be used as a base card for Galaxy 5!! The SW Galaxy series are my favorites of all the card sets Topps have released so this is a dream come true. As soon as I get the ok from Topps I will post the art!
