If that's intentional then I think they might have a problem. The again at least they have chase card in the set.
The odds are clearly wrong (or cleverly worded!!!) which is poor

Originally posted by Sci-FiPlanet: Anyway along with the starter pack (which has the binder in it) there will also be tins, however the information I have on those must be incorrect because they are pricing them at £9.99 per tin but you only get 10 packs...
I'm assuming it's £5 worth of cards and £4.99 for the Tin

That would be very out of character, normally the tins would come with an exclusive card or extra packs, I think the price point is wrong or the quantity of packs in the tin is listed incorrectly. Someone is going to get back to me on that soon.
Yes indeed it is, you may be swimming in base sets but the embossed and foil are going to be a harder lot to put together. This is the nicer aspect of the secondary market, because at the moment the foils are not selling for THAT much on eBay, however I expect the price to shoot up in the next week or two as people pick up this set and and run with it, then it should slow down again as people start to complete.
Remember this set isnt "officially" out yet so interest has not peeked. By next Monday I think the prices for the embossed cards will have doubled in the short term. The again trading with those on forums is another option. At the moment the E cards seem to be bringing around £3.00 each I can see that going up to the £5.00/£6.00 mark at it's peek and then probably back down to the £1.50 £2.00 mark soon after. The price point on these packs means a lot of people will pick them up. They are sat next to things that are three and four times the price and of much lower quality.. (club penguin anyone?)
Another thing to keep in mind, the retailers are not making much on this at least not the hobby shops they are getting slightly less than £10.00 per 100 count box. I love the fact that you cant tell what's in which pack it makes it truly random which is a nice change. The card stock is better and you can really see that these have not been made in china. I just wish we could get Panini interested in the hobby market.

Is it known for definite that they're unlimited, Wolfie?
And does anyone know how long their license runs for???

I think the binder is more than adequate, although nowhere near as flashy as the box and cards IMHO: nicely robust, and the added bonus that the covers are interchangeable so you can use them for those sets that have no binder/naff binder.
Only 16 sleeves (sealed into the binder), but by doubling up the cards in them that's 288 spaces, so more than enough for the whole set.
£4.99 for an album, 4 packs of cards and a game board aint bad IMHO.

Will the covers fit in my upper deck folders Dalek? I have not found one of these locally yet. I have however had some bad luck I picked up ten packs from a shop up north and didn't get a single foil cards among them. Thats a little odd and hopefully just a one off. Also several of these packs had consecutive numbers in them (ie 40-45 in order in the pack). I hope we dont get any of the problems the early BIT had.

I'll give them a try tonight and let you know, but I reckon yes by just looking at them.
Sorry to hear about your bad luck on the pack opening: as you say, I really hope it's not a collation problem. This set will be expensive enough to complete without that happening!!!

Sadly no Martyns Newsagents in my area of Yorkshire...
I've been to TRU tho' and there's no mention of a special card there (yet!).

There are no Martyns newsagents in my area, however there is a few Martins or McColl newsagents. They are both part of the same group just with different trading names. I wonder how the newsagencies are getting the boxes with the exclusive card in, they must be distributed seperately from other shops' orders. Very odd (or ood if you like). On the off chance I bought 20 packs from our local WHSmiths today. Nowt, nada, nothing, zip, bugger.

This is not all that uncommon, they did the same things with some of the matchAtax football cards, McColl had an exclusive card which was fairly expensive for a while. Often the supply's for these cards come directly from the manufacturer thus missing the distribution ring. You also have to consider Smiths moves literally thousands of orders every day around the country to make sure every news outlet has there supply of books and magazines.. it's a fairly well oiled machine assuming things are labelled with the right batch numbers. The boxes with exclusives in will have a different identifier code some place.
Edit: The again after 2 days of contacting them (well failing to) I am starting to doubt there ability's..
