I would have to disagree with you there Jim. If you like redemptions and don't mind sticker autographs that's fine with me, but sticker autograph cards and on-the-card autographs should have no discernable weight difference. There is also no difference in thickness. So it's not like costume or material cards that can be easily fingered and are therefore readily searched.

As long as the manufacturer mixes it up and doesn't put the insert cards in exactly the same pack placement in every box I know I can't pick out the one with the autograph card, sticker or not. And I have certainly tried. Big Grin

Being a former pack searcher before I "saw the light", jeweler scales work everytime. There is a weight diff between a on card and sticker auto.

OK, I believe you. But in my defense I have to say that a said "a discernable weight difference". If I brought a jeweler scale to my local hobby shop I doubt the owner would be pleased. Big Grin

There's a wolfie in a story my children are fond of that huffs and puffs and blows down houses.

I'm beginning to suspect that this wolfie inhales trading cards!

(Sorry mods, slipped off topic)

I so hope this isn't a trend for Inkworks.

If and when we see Dr Who ... well let's just say that I'm a little concerned.
Hint: Inkworks please throw us a scrap, a mere crumb of info!

Well, the images have been released - so what do people think?

I'd say garish and the 'Inkworks' sure could have been integrated much more subtley. Even the Topps stickers don't stand out as much as these seem to.

They look o.k. to me - I'd imagined something a lot worse.

I don't like sticker auto's, but if you have to do them then this is fine. They certainly look big enough to fit a whole signature on.

Inkworks has made a decision and that is what they've gone with, I expect that they have ordered quite a few so I don't expect the design to change in the near future.

to be honest, i'm not all that bothered by them. yes, i prefer not to have them but i think they did a nice job of incorporating the sticker into the card design. they seem bigger than the average sticker too which is nice for those large autos. i'm not, however, thrilled about their use as an x-files dual auto 10 case incentive...

but all in all, this could have been a lot worse.

After thinking long and hard about it, I think the auto cards look like crud. Inkworks went from a Ferrari to a Pacer with this sorry excuse for a product. It's hard to enjoy the autograph with such a busy background. David Duchovny's auto looks lost in that space. And after seeing that dual autograph card all the fears of the other posters have come true, stick two stickers to a card and call it unique. Here's a visual of what I think.

I guess the security feature would work because I don't know of anybody who would steal a Pacer. Shake Head

lol I have to agree with Rabbit in that it's harder to appreciate the autograph now that they have to add so much more into the background. I don't think the cards look as bad as I first anticipated, however they certainly don't look better than the on-card autos.

I guess to people who do believe this was done in regards to security, the stickers are a small price to pay to ensure that. Though I think some might be second thinking that price now that these rare so-called double autographs are surfacing.

Although i won't be buying them i think they look really nice.
Obviously it would be prefered on card auto, but still the over all desing is very good.
In my opinion.
Not bad Inkworks.

I think the sticker would have been better if it was more subtle instead of this big glaring metallic square. On the bright side I don't really care about the dual x-files auto being incentive only, since it has double the ugly of the normal cards. Wink

I like the Supernatual auto they've posted. I think I may have prepared myself for the absolute worst scenario, so I'm pleasantly surprised!

I was just thinking, maybe Inkworks is playing an April, May, June and July's Fools Day Joke. Boy they had me going, I think they can now reveal to us all that this was just one big joke and that they aren't really going to be using those really ugly sticker autographs and are actually going to keep things the way they were in the past. I can't wait until they make that announcement so I can look forward to purchasing their top quality products. Big Grin
