Autograph Card Information Due to autograph card security issues, Inkworks will be using signed holographic security labels on autograph cards for all products beginning with the Supernatural: Connections trading card collection that releases in June 2008. This change was made to protect the integrity of Inkworks autograph cards.
So, does this mean they've found fake autos, or are trying to prevent it now?!
Maybe they mean that someone at Inkworks will sign a special sticker that's placed on the card. It would be more difficult for someone to produce a fake card if that person also had to replicate the sticker.

I think if there are people who could counterfeit modern day currencies with all the safety features in them then there are those that can duplicate a simple hologram sticker.

lol, hate to say it but he's right. If they want to forge it, there is always a way.
Sad, but true. Im happy that I dont collect many autos
If Monroe had signed, the sticker would probably have peeled off the card by now. And if she had a loopy signature then you'd probably only have half of it on the sticker anyway

maybe the labels are signed by the people who watched the signings? We won't know till inkworks chimes in.. I don't mind stickers as it makes multi signed cards a lot easier to make..
Possibly switching to sticker autos just before the X-Files 2 release with the 1st Duchovney auto card? NOOOOOOOOOOOO! I hope it's some other type of 'signed holographic security label' like the Topps one mentioned above. There is also another type used on NASCAR cards. Certain drivers have a clear holo serial number sticker provided by that drivers camp placed OVER the on card autograph to ensure authenticity. Like this:
If the autos are indeed on stickers, I hope the card design incorporates the sticker well at least.

Is it just me, or can't they have a hologram in the actual card, similar to what Upper Deck did with Disney Treasures, rather than that #%#@!$ sticker? Is that too expensive to manufacture? I really HATE the idea of Inkworks' autos looking like Topps now. It will definitely make me less interested in collecting their cards.
I can certainly understand the concern about counterfeiting cards, but I am not convinced there isn't a better way to do this.
Someone mentioned earlier that we shouldn't jump to conclusions, but "Inkworks will be using signed holographic security labels on autograph cards for all products beginning with the Supernatural: Connections trading card collection that releases in June 2008" sounds to me like signed stickers.
Ladies and gentlemen, the golden age of autograph card collecting just died.

I believe Inkworks should explain to the collectors exactly what prompted them to do this. If they discovered that some of their autographs have an authenticity problem I would like to know in case it's an autograph I own or would like to own. Honestly all these issues with the authenticity of autographs gives me a headache. It doesn't make collecting fun at all. Sometimes I feel like I'm just throwing money away. Why don't the companies just serial number the back of each autograph? That would solve the problem to me.
