Per Steve Charendoff's post today on the RA message board:
Just to clarify, this 50th anniversary set will have a different format from the past sets. Instead of 6 or 9 cards per episode, we are putting 2 episodes on a card and covering the ENTIRE history of the show. There won't be as much detail for each episode as in the past, but this set will cover every episode.
Re signings, Paul Mazursky turned us down, but David Macklin and Richard Erdman have signed cards.

I didn't know who she was by her name, so I checked on the IMDB and found out she voiced Talking Tina in the Living Doll episode Thumb Up

Steve Charendoff also wrote that Carol Burnett and Robert Redford continue to decline offers to sign for the set.

Maybe he can get Dennis Hopper instead. Now that would be sweet Eek

Steve over at the RA message board has added a few more names to the set!!!!!!
quote:
Actually just hit the 50-signer mark. Yes, I included Earl (Holliman) only because he was in the first episode, and I thought that was cool. Just spoke to John Astin today -- super guy and really interested in the TZ cards. Also just added Joyce Van Patten, and George Clayton Johnson will be the 6-case incentive.

Definitely getting a case. Agonizing over whether to get 2. Have cut back the past few months after a few disappointments last year, but Twilight Zone releases are always a blast.

Also Rittenhouse just announced there will be only 4,000 boxes made. That's an extremely limited run. And it's already sold out on their site.

Cool, seeing as Mary Badham is the only other auto I am really interested in.

I have already added the necessary empty 9 pocket pages to my Twilight Zone binder album in giddy anticipation their arrival. They are supposed to come out October 2nd.

Thanks in advance to Rittenhouse for the huge new set of Twilight Zone autograph cards. It's no small accomplishment to get signatures from fifty actors who played their roles a half century ago, and I appreciate Steve's effort. Rittenhouse is a business first of course, but they have also repeatedly shown their work to be a labor a love, and never more so than on the Twilight Zone sets, each of which has been great. .

I'm glad the base set is of the "complete" variety so that all episodes are represented, that was one of the knocks on the earlier sets, that they only featured 12 episodes each.

The 15 card lenticular chase set is also sure to be a highlight. I love "wiggle" cards and this set will have several different TZ logo cards among them! I can see the stars twinkling in and out already...

There will be "Archive" boxes as Case Incentives, but I'm not sure if any will be found in random cases, either the marked or hidden variety. Anyone?

I just started opening my case and this set is gorgeous. Well done Rittenhouse Clap

The autograph I wanted the most was John Astin and I pulled him out of the very first pack I opened. Thumb Up

This is a nicely done set with interesting base cards that are unique in that they are double sided. Each card gives a little idea of the storylines for 2 episodes. It really left me wishing they had more room to go into greater detail on some of the punchlines of these tales.

However, what I really wanted to say is that the Twilight Zone autograph cards consistently have the most beautiful signatures of any card set I've ever seen and this 50th Anniversary edition is no different.

Just take a look at the autograph card scans. Nearly every signer lays down a signature that can be read letter for letter. I don't know if its because most of the people are older and take pride in their autograph, or because many don't appear in other sets, or because RA somehow requests them to do it. I do know that the signatures are generally all terrific and really make these cards look great.

Hats off to all the signers and RA for keeping up with a wonderful standard. Thumb Up
