I was on the UDE site today and thought that I would share this info...

http://entertainment.upperdeck.com/marvel/en/masterpieces/cardlist.aspx

Retail exclusives? I wonder then if the sketch cards will be hobby exclusive?

I was amused to see that their set summary showed "Original Sketch Blanks" at 1:36 packs. (I'm sure they'll fix the wording.)

Golly, we could use some do-it-yourself sketches. Marketing ploy: "Thousands and thousands of artists invited to participate!" Smokin'

I think that the sketch blanks concept is actually pretty cool, provided that they're actually branded differently than the regular sketch cards (which I imagine they will be).

I have not participated in any marvel Masterpieces sets. I believe the artist with the signature similar to mine is Chad Hardin.

Thanks for the post Chris! I bet you've fielded enough questions. Some of Chad's sigs are very close to the 'usual' CH mark we know and love. Wink

For your viewing pleasure, I present the retail exclusive "B"'s (no sign of C's yet)

Enjoy!

and fyi...packs at Target. There are no odds listed but the packs state that costumes and sketches are randomly inserted.

My guess is that the "C" cards will be at Wal-Mart since the "B" cards are at Target.

Did anyone get any of the Avengers inserts in the retail packs?

I purchased some while traveling this week but did not get any inserts except the "B" cards.

Just got back from Target. Purchased 20 packs.

Didn't get a SINGLE chase card.

What are the odds for any of the inserts??
Are retail sketches 1:1000 packs??
Are the "B" chase cards 1:300??

I think not putting odds on the packs is a big cheat.

got some retail cards today at Target. maybe 30 packs or so?

Pulled 1 Iron Man B card (the one in the pic above)

That's it. No other chase cards, sketches or costume cards.

And I thought Topps hobby packs were skimpy on chase cards. Yeesh!

I don't understand how to get the retail exclusive, I have not seen any in Canada. But, in my first pack I got a Fantastic Four Doctor Doom memoribilia card. My first costume card, not including jersey cards from my sports collection.

I saw these packs at Target. Will they be releasing boxes like Topps does for Wacky Packs (10 packs or so in a box)?? Or just single packs?

I have only seen the gravity-feed box for the retail packs. I highly recommend avoiding these packs. No stated odds. Scarce chase cards. "Phantom" sketches (seriously... do retail sketches for this product exist?) In my opinion, HOBBY is the only way to go with this product.

WOW

I picked up 20 more retail packs at a different Target last night and pulled the Hulk B and another Iron Man B

Having just looked at what these are doing on ebay, OMG! glad I got what I did. Now if they'll just show up at Wal-Mart for the C's I'll be ok!

On a different note, has anyone found the Clone Wars retail cards anywhere yet? I can't seem to find them yet. Frown I'm dying to know how astronomical the ratio will be on the exclusive sketch cards for those!

I picked up 19 packs of SWCW at Target yesterday and I pulled:

3 Red Exclusive Cels
4 Regular Cel's
4 Motion cards
7 Foils

I think that is pretty good. Only 2 packs didn't have an insert.

The pack odds on the Target gravity feed exclusive sketches (Cat Staggs) are 1:4,500.

thanks Igman!

I'll keep scouring my Targets then. I either missed them or they just haven't shown up yet. They do that sometimes.

Even the Marvel Masterpieces just showed up this last weekend here in Vegas.

With only 50 sketch cards, I kind of expected the odds to be higher really. interesting

Well I think the odds are roughly 1:18 packs for the B die cuts.

I bought all 36 packs in the box in pulled one of each.(Hulk and I.M.) - those were the only specials-- and only got one complete set of base cards out of it.

Would let them go for what I paid for the packs.-- Save yourself the trouble.

It's good to see the price of the B die cuts coming down a bit since I still need an Iron man B version. Not to mention a C version too.
