The checklist for the new Upper Deck Aliens 2018 set appears to have been released. As I consider Aliens to be one of the best movies of its kind ever made, I am always happy to get more cards, but UD has left some glaring holes in the autographs here.

Unfortunately Bill Paxton has passed away and UD evidently didn't have any stockpile of his signed stickers, as he has no autographs listed.

The bad part is that there appears to be no autographs from Michael Biehn or Jenette Goldstein and both their characters were key in Aliens. Goldstein has only signed one certified card in Star Trek Movies years ago, so I was really looking forward to getting something from her as Private Vasquez. Biehn has signed a few times before in Americana and Pop Century, but of course Private Hicks is a prime part for him.

Not sure why UD couldn't get a deal done with these two but, while more autographs from Weaver are always good, their absence hurts the set a lot. I know it shouldn't be all about the autographs, but as this is an older title, it is the filling in of missing pieces that makes it better than what is already out there. As it stands now this Aliens doesn't complete anything.

Thanks for posting Ed, it is more Aliens and I like the addition of inscriptions and multiple auto designs. However the autograph odds of getting anyone but the 7 commons is pretty daunting.

I don't think you mentioned that there are sketches in here as well. In fact you are not guaranteed an auto in a hobby box, it is split with 1 auto or sketch per box. You also won't be getting a complete base set in a box, not with a 100 card set plus insert cards and hits. This is very similar construction to all UD's previous Alien products.

Yeah, that's Weaver, and at 20 packs per box it rounds out to 1 every 118 boxes. And at 12 boxes per case that's 1 every 9.8 cases.

But let's not forget that this is UD and 3 months after release they will probably put this Aliens in ePacks as they did with previous Alien product. So these ratios may be accurate, but not to be confused with the total number of autograph cards that might eventually be available. Got it? Big Grin

I'm curious about the business cards. . . could be interested. I pulled a bunch of the manufactured patches from the last release and wasn't impressed. . . hopefully the business cards are better.

Cool to see Paul Riser autographs again.
