Its definitely still coming, Slackjawedyokel. From what I hear, Lucas has the lid on the Clone Wars pot really tight so I don't think you are going to see a whole lot of preview stuff but I know Topps is working on it.

Yes it is still coming and we are indeed under strict contract not to say or show anything until we are specifically told to do so... Just like our Indiana Jones KOTCS cards.

I got a sell sheet from Topps the other week and the only thing I noticed that I didn't remember seeing before is that there are sketch cards from the director of the film.

Did somebody know the release day?? I think can not be July 26, because first is Comic-Con in San Diego and usually Topps did not release products the same time when is a big convention, and second I think the 26th is a Saturday; so maybe it will be before the convention start or the week after the convention.

I have not heard any firm date, but one of the artists just received a shipment of sketch blanks and noted that his deadline is in 6 weeks. That would put us at the 10th or 11th before cards are submitted to the licensee for approvals. I would be extremely suprised if the cards are released prior to August 6.

July 26th is an odd date for a release, but it is the most current date that I have been given from 2 different distributors.

I don't think Topps waits till all of the cards are in to submit to LFL, I think as cards come in they do that otherwise it would be alot longer from when they got the cards and or electronic files to get approvals.

Two questions:

1. Is it one sketch per hobby box?

2. Can someone post samples of the Waterhouse & Woodside Clone Wars sketches? (I need to complete my ongoing collection.)

1. Topps has yet to say. To early , but with 100+ artists contributing art and sketches are the "chase" I would HOPE there would be atleast 1 per hobby box.

2. That being said , I would ***-u-me Waterhouse and Woodside will be contributing Jawa sketches

If one or both are listed in the artist lineup, I will 100% pass on the product.

This release will be the one that shows collectors what kind of quality they can expect from Topps for future releases. If they include any Waterhouse or Woodside sketches in this release despite the ongoing rage against these "artists", then all hope is lost.

Oh, and why no chase ratios? I have the feeling that Topps might be looking to "bait & switch" the dealers and distributers again.

heres the latest info i have recieved......

"1 sketch card per box, 90 card base set, Animation cel cards (1:6 packs), sequentially #’d parallel cards (1:24 packs)"

blah blah blah blah.... ill believe it when i see it.

and please everyone.....remember that anyone can draw a quick doodle that leaves the collector feel blue. people are quick to name names, but dont forget who is driving the ship.....Topps.....for some reason it dont think they will have much of a moral or ethical problem throwing the two W's to the wolves and finding a few others to take their place.

July 26th seems like a logical date. Most of the other product for the movie is coming out that day (books especially).

SO EXCITED!!! Now I just hope I have the money for it! :P

When will we find out if Woodside is on this set? Maybe Topps just canceled Waterhouse and doubled up on Woodside.

It's true that we've been awfully hard on Waterhouse, while many of the Woodside sketches for Indiana Jones look like orcs to me.

I have been overly critical of the use of these two artists. I am very happy that Waterhouse is not being used , not using Woodside would make it a slam dunk for me. Certainly with 100+ artists on the roster and MANY new artists given the first shot , I would assume there will be less than desirable work to be pulled. Every set with or without certain artists is like this BUT with the possibility of NOT pulling a repeat-a-sketch every other sketch ... things are more sunny in Mudville .

I agree.

If W&W are not featured in this product, I would buy a full case.
