Gosh, I hope this means an annoucement is imminent. It seems that the online dealer sites (whoever they may be...) have a pretty good track rate of posting Inkworks information before Inkworks itself does.

Just got a reply from Sue Lake (Inkworks) that said they could give no confirmation on an August release date but keep an eye on their site.

At least it isn't "we have no information at this time" or somesuch. Smile As was said, could be a good sign!

It's weird to think that in four days I'll be on the road to San Diego. I can't wait for the Card Talk breakfast to see if there's any news from Uncle Allan on this set!

Words can not adequately described how ticked off I am with Inkworks right now.

Simon Pegg is signing autographs in my town tomorrow -- exactly one year to the day of the start of last year's Comic Con where Inkworks released a preview set and I don't have a card for him to sign because a year later they haven't released their set yet. I could go to that event but I have nothing for Simon Pegg to sign.

Simon Pegg was in Series One. Series Four has finished airing and we still don't have cards from Series One.

Thanks a lot Inkworks.

I wouldn't neccessarily blame Inkworks - there are all sorts of factors that come into play on a license such as Doctor Who, and any delay to any putative set might not actually be their fault!

That said, if you want Pegg to sign something, I'd strongly recommend the Spaced DVD's Smile

There is a Dr Who game (stickers I think) and a Torchwood set (cards I think), so other companies are able to produce this sort of product.

It may not be Inkworks fault, but they did release a preview set a year ago and then when the time came for the set to be released came and passed Inkworks has not said a word about it. Leaving people up in the air that were looking forward to this set because of their preview set was Inkwork's decision. Maybe they couldn't say very much because of legal, but they could have said something and chose not to.

In the meantime Inkworks did make the decision to put autographs on stickers, and that is one hundred percent their decision. That is going to affect the autograph cards that I was really looking forward to.

I don't want Simon Pegg to sign a DVD. I have had plenty of access to celebraties and don't have an autograph collection, doesn't interest me one bit. What I was looking forward to was an autograph collection of people that have worked on my all time favorite TV show and to sign something related to that show. I picked cards based on the news at last years Comic Con a New Who set was right around the corner and the other Series were going to be put out quickly to catch up with the series. Besides, I hadn't collected cards in years and this was a chance to combine two fun things together.

I hope this message makes since, I wrote it in a hurry and have to go. Basically I have been looking forward to this set for a year now and I am way beyond fustrated at the lack of cards, lack of news, and now lack of anything to sign when someone who worked on Dr Who is signing in the very town I live in.

There is a card in the Battles in Time set, # 6 I think which features Simon as "The Editor", if you can get a hold of one in time.

I would have preferred a set for each season but the continuing delays suggest they would not have time to issue three sets before season four starts in 2010.

A pity as there was certainly enough content in each season for a set and it will be very difficult to fit everything that happens in the two seasons into one 90 card set.

It would be good if they double the size of the set to release both season in one go. It might be more interesting with more to chase down and less base sets that would get dumped.

Thanks for the info. I do need to check out Battles in Time, I don't know anything about it. I was wondering if the common cards have good character images or if you have to chase rare /ultra rare cards for those.

I'm really glad we have some news from Inkworks. I also hope they double the size. I am hoping the base card set is really nice because that is what I am planning on using to have actors and writers sign at events.

I do hope seasons 3-4 are not too far behind it, this set has seems to have been really difficult to produce.

I'm really happy we have some news. Maybe Comic Con will give a few details! Big Grin

At the Inkworks booth there are mockups of the packaging for the packs and display box. They're very prelminary but they looked great. I'd post a picture but I'm at a hotel computer and can't get them off my camera. I'm sure Harris will post some later. :-)I talked to Allan a little bit at the booth and he mentioned he's going to have to miss the breakfast in the morning as he's meeting with some BBC reps.

Ooooh, a November release would be great!

Do they have any preview cards like they did last year?
