I saw it on a checklist sent out by Topps. It seems about as confirmed as one would expect. Sketch artists were still TBA.

This set is looking pretty darn amazing.
I loved the first clone wars set (based on the movie) but with the addition of autographs and the widevision format sketch cards this set is looking a whole lot better. Also I think Topps did a pretty good job with the sketch card design as far as logo and word placement. Lots of room for the artist to work with without a logo or anything getting in the way. |

Has anyone heard what will be inserted into the retail versions of this product? We might have an opportunity to pick up some of the Target exclusive boxes.

Seems the term "exclusive" has gotten very loose in the collectible industry the last few years. Nothing against you Potomac....Just the industy in general . |

It's a retail version available only at Target and nowhere else--isn't that the definition of "exclusive"?

I don't understand this type of off-hand comment. The Target exclusive sketches were something cool to chase after at the retail level. If you don't like it, don't collect it, but why be negative? |

I think the point he was making was that the so called "exclusives" were available outside of Target, at least for SWG4. Several dealers that ordered the retail product, received the Target boxes. Also, there were reports that the Target boxes were available at military base/post exchanges. I personally saw one of these boxes on an Air Force base in South Korea of all places. I'm guessing that nevets doesn't have a problem with the sketches, only that they are advertised as exclusive to a certain store and in reality are not.
Personally, I would rather not see sketches included in the retail product. I think it would be nice if the sketches were inserted in the hobby boxes so that we could have a chance at pulling an extra sketch from a box. |

I don't agree. It was fun to actually get something exclusive in a retail format, the "hobby only" stuff gets very worn out very qiuckly. I liked the "red" Target sketches, it was innovative and a shot in the arm for a lot of boring retail issues. The Target sketches were for the most part all decent, and they were mostly exclusive artists. Would you rather have that or another run of the mill hobby sketch?

I respect your opinion, and I have to admit that it was fun to go hunting for Target sketches. My success rate wasn't great though. I only found two sketches out of about 7-8 boxes of cards. The again, one was a beautiful Sean Pence sketch, so it made up for the Gold Foils I pulled instead of sketches.
Again, back to my point, I think the issue is that SWG4 retail sketches were advertised as Target exclusives, when they were not exclusive at all. If Topps wants to call the Clone Wars sketches "retail exclusives" that would be fine, but to say that they are exclusive to Target and then to have the cards available in other stores just doesn't seem right. You would think that Target would have an issue with this since exclusives bring people into their stores. Maybe with SWG4, Target ordered all that the thought they could sell and Topps then offered the remaining stock to other dealers. However, if I remember correctly, one card dealer had "exclusive" sketches way before they were available from Target. It is just a question of semantics. If Clone Wars has "retail exclusive sketches" they should be available to whoever orders the retail product, but if it is "Target exclusive sketches" it should be Target selling the boxes. |

Darth Smittyous gets the jist of what im sayin'.
I have no problem with retail sketches, Target or anything of the like. My comment was about the term "exclusive" and how it has been used without much backbone in the pop culture collecting world the last few years. For example the September issue of previews has 10 items listed as SDCC 09 "exclusives"! Gimmie a break! Im not saying they don't have the right to do that. Just that I find it hilarious and insulting at the same time. And soon"exclusive" will be in the ranks with "limited edition" which we all know is code for mass produced. Remember "limited edition" candy bars? Soon we will have "exclusive candy bars". |

I did 100 sketch cards for this set. My cards are all Hobby exclusives.
My girlfriend Denise Vasquez completed 200 cards. 100 Hobby and 100 retail. Thought you guys might like to know that the back s of the Retail cards look very different from the Hobby. I knwo that probably isn't enough for some hardcore collectors. BUt hey, at least Topps is trying to do something about the issue. With SWg4 they tried to make the Target cards exclusive by having us use Red on the cards. The only problem is some artists only put a dash of red in on their cards. They look fine, but it makes it really hard to tell if it was from the Target set. For my cards, as many of you know, I will only put a splash of color in my pack pulls, if that. So with the Target cards, the whole card is Red. If you have one of my cards and it's all Red then you know you got a Target Exclusive. I think the different backs for hobby and retail is good idea. You can Check out Samples of Clone Wars cards here. Clone Wars Season 1 Sample Gallery BTW, the Full color cards are my returns. They will be available when I get them back. ____________________ All you need is love |

Not that I'm complaining, ok I guess I am, but I was under the impression that the Autographs were a Hobby Exclusive (as stated on the Topps website). Now come to find out there are 2 that are in the Target packs. Also, what happened to Anthony Daniels? He was the one I was really hoping to get.
