News about it in the next issue.

Next issue...

20th Anniversary Issue! Celebrate NSU's 20th Anniversary with our Oct/Nov issue. The issue will feature a great original art cover by Brian Kong and Jim Kyle. And many of our departments will take a nod towards the milestone. Editor-in-Chief Alan Biegel has polled NSU experts for a feature on great cards for not a lot of money - see what's made the list! Plus, news on Spider-Man Archives and Star Wars Clone Wars Widevision. The issue will contain The Complete Twilight Zone and Stargate Heroes promos from Rittenhouse Archives and maybe a couple of others.. Also, don't miss the variant issue produced for the 9th Annual Chicagoland Entertainment Collectors Expo taking place Sept 10 & 11 in Carol Stream, IL. Pre-orders are being accepted now for those who can't make the show.

What do you all think?

Good, i like the widevision cards. All the card sets done for movies should be done in widevision.

While I personally am not a fan of oversized cards I applaud when companies try things that aren't done very often. . .

Personally I'd love to see more small cards -- like the Allen and Ginter Minis.

I'm not sure if they've done wide vision cards to the exact proportions of set cards, but there have been some odd sized sketch cards like this one which measures about 3x5 inches tall...

One of the Indiana Jones sets did those folded in half panorama sketches IIRC.

Here are some more information:

Topps gives The Clone Wars the full treatment by presenting it in the fan-favorite Widevison format, featuring 80 oversized 2 1/2" x 4 11/16" cards, showing every scene as it was meant to be seen - the entire wide-screen image, with every detail in-place. Multiple levels of super-collectible inserts include Foil Character Cards (1:3 packs), Animation Cel Clear Cards (1:4 packs), Motion Cards (1:8 packs), Sequentially-Numbered Silver Foil-Stamped Parallels (numbered to 500), and 1/1 Gold Foil-Stamped Parallels and Sketch Cards (1 per box). Additionally, Topps will be including as Hobby-only inserts Animator Sketch Cards and Voice-Actor Autographs. 7 cards per pack, 24 packs per box.

So is this going to be based on the movie again or season 1 of the series? They make it sound like another movie set with the "showing every scene as it was meant to be seen" line.

The Previews site also says this:

"The Clone Wars is a mega success! The first season of Cartoon Network's new Star Wars series ranked #1 for all television (broadcast and cable) with boys 6-11."

So it probably is the TV show.

It's probably based on the movie and the series. The series is filmed in widescreen too and would be perfect for a Widevision set.

There has been preliminary information in the Previews Catalog. Including the suggested retail price of $2 a pack with 24 packs per box.

However, my distributor has no information as of today, so I cannot say for sure about anything. Topps switched prices with us on Galaxy 4 even after taking orders, so I'm hesitant to take orders without some confirmation on pricing.

I think it's inadmissible to don't have any info or visual reference 2 months prior a release. No sell sheet, no advertising on Topps web site, to me it's not normal business. David Waldeck, if you read this thread, can you give more info or put some more info in the Topps Star Wars Blog please?

Plenty of sets don't have any info two months before release.

There will be sketch cards, and from what I hear in the widevision format (this may have already been mentioned)

I am sure we will get more info soon. Pretty sure distributors/dealers don't even have orders in yet.

EDIT:Just saw on another site all the box art, base card samples, insert, autograph, and sketch samples, so I am sure the pictures will make it onto this forum sometime soon
