It does show that W H Smiths around the Uk do sell cards, which can only be a good thing. Smile

I decided to treat my self for my birthday with a couple of packs from my local shop - 1 of Spike and 1 of CSI Series 2.
I got a foil in the Spike pack and an autograph card in the CSI - CSI-B8 signed by Joseph Patrick Kelley (as Officer Metcalf) Big Grin

Not entirely blown your chances - the autos in CSI Series 2 are 1:12 so there's a fair chance you could pull one of the remaining two signed cards in the box!
Au Res.,

Graham,
Just in cse you were thinking of popping along to 'our' shop and buying a pack or two of Angel Season 5 (there's a new box on display), I bought two packs this morning - now but base cards in the first, PW5 (Gunn's Shirt from "Harm's Way") in the other...
Au Res.,
Paul

When i first started to collect non sports cards i just collected the loose packs, i didnt know where to get the boxes from, form angel season 4 i got The beast auto and Charisma's top from Home, then in a buffy season 7 pack i got Camden Tou auto. I havent really pulled anything like that since, just chase cards.
I'm still working on the angel season 5 box in my local FP!

I was downtown today and suffering card withdrawl and noticed a nice fresh box of Robots. Couldn't resist opening a few so I grabbed 4 packs, 2 from each side, and got "Postcards from the Big City" PC1 and this rather fetching Tone Rodriguez sketch #'d 295/528

Edit, must be something wrong with my scanner, on my card the pupils are red and the shading is a brown/grey and i see the blue in the borders and logo are grey too.

I think your scanner may have defaulted to a greyscale scan - mine does that sometimes when the image that I'm scanning doesn't have strong color differences. However, here is the scan of that card as it passed through our hands:

I know, I know, I'm just showing off, but I did scan it first! Big Grin

I posted this in the Star Wars ROTS breakdown thread but only just now went to the TOPPS site to see what the odds were on specific sketch cards and all I can say is WOW, did I beat the odds. It turns out Plunkett is 1 of 9 artists from the toughest to pull level. LEVEL A was 1:777 to get ONE of the 9 artists which works out to 1:6,993 for each specific artist and after checking examples of each I think Plunkett did the best overall sketches for that level.

Anyhow, 6 packs yielded 2 foils and this Plunkett sketch. Gotta love loose packs from a trustworthy card shop. Big Grin

Bought about 12 packs of Aliens Vs. Predator and pulled a no-namer autograph and Tony Rodriguez Sketch!

I didn't even know that the sketches were pack inserted until I pulled it and checked Inkworks site for info.

Definitely a nice find and a nice sketch! Alien Drooling...

Normally i would be the first to jump on this band wagon... however yesterday i went to Forbidden Planet and delved into a few packs...

3 x TNG Quotable
3 x Star Wars ROTS
2 x Stargate SG-1 S7
2 x Bond Quotable

The packs yielded the following:

Bond 1 x Bond Girls are forever
TNG Quotables 2 x Space Final Frontier and 1 x Quotable Comics
Stargate 1 x Casting Call
Star Wars 1 x ectched Foil and .......

My best ever pull EVER EVER EVER... and sketch card.. adn thankfully not one of the bad ones i seen.... a fairly decent sketch of Bail Organa (i think) however not sure who the artist is.... will have to post a scan here soon so someone can help identify who the artist is.....

So chuffed Smile))
