working on
Dexter
Jericho
Hellboy
and the Supernatural Sets..

The inkworks sale is making their sets A LOT easier to get.. And all the dexter flooding the market is making them fair to pick up but I have a feeling in a couple months that won't be the case with Dexter...

Don't know how close I'll come to a master set but working on

Iron Man - some promos, some autos, some props and more sketches

DC legacy - need some promos and more sketches

Obama Topps - need some of the foil and lots of parallel cards.

Maybe I'll have done when I'm 50 or so...

Just 5 more years to go. Eek

Pardon my ignorance but what is the average time to put together a Master set?

Don't worry about how fast or how long it takes others to finish a set. I've had sets in the work much longer than five years and don't expect to finish them any time soon.

Didn't you used to have the Supernatural sets and sold most of the cards? Can't remember if that was you or someone else.

Working on a number of sets: -

Chronicles of Riddick - need one card
LOTR Fellowship of the Ring - need two cards
LOTR Return of the King - need one card
Star Wars - ROTS - Widevision - need one card
Avengers Series 1 - one card needed

I could be writing the same list in ten years time. There are no prizes to be awarded for guessing the majority of cards required. Big Grin

With the arrival of two sketch cards in this mornings post, I am just one card short of owning a Strictly Ink Ray Harryhausen Collection Master Set. This will include:

Two Promo Cards
One Artist Test Sketch
At least one sketch card from each of the contributing artists
A blank Ray Harryhausen Autograph card
A blank sketch card (though that may change Big Grin)

The two cards that arrived this morning were by Carolyn Edwards and Cynthia Cummens:

My final commission sketch arrived from Gary Ochiltree this morning in the most over-the-top packaging I've ever seen for a sketch card (plastic sleeve taped to letter between two comic book sized sheets of card in a protective plastic sleeve between two sheets of corrugated cardboard inside a large brown envelope ! ) . However, I'm not complaining after my postie's recent efforts plus it was as much fun as opening a parcel at Christmas  Anyway, along with the finished full colour sketch, Gary also sent me his preliminary draft pencil version which was a welcome bonus. Both are shown below. So another great card for my collection featuring a lovely rendition of one of the more memorable scenes from Jason and the Argonauts:

So I now have a complete set of sketches from every artist who contributed to this card collection. By my reckoning, that means I have a Master Set Elephant

Which just leaves me to ponder what to do with my final remaining blank card ? Decisions....decisions Smile

CONGRATULATIONS!!! It's a great feeling... Bouncey ...It's what makes this "quest" (I refuse to call this a Hobby!) such a fulfilling "butterflies-in-your-stomach" journey! Smile

...and there's nothing wrong with filling those blanks with MORE work from those artists you love the most...

...and, I'm working on DEXTER right now...one sketch card short... Eek Eek Eek

As of today, I am one more autograph closer to completing the entire run of Angel autograph cards. I got the Juliet Landau A10 in a trade today at the Philly Show and am very pleased to have it.

6 to go!

I am a little bummed. I have been working on my Dexter master set and I am close to completion... or so I thought. I bought alot of the cards I needed at Philly this past weekend, case incentives, sketches, prop and costume variants, etc. Because I am a real completist, I wanted one sketch from every artist that worked on the series. Which brings me to my dilema. The SDCC Dexter boxes have sketch cards in them which are different from the hobby box release. The back of the regular sketches have 3 lines of text, while the SDCC sketches have only 2 lines of text. 7 different artists contributed to the set. Only 400 numbered boxes were made. So far, I have 6 of the 7 artist sketch cards. Unfortunately, the one I am missing, Trev Murphy, only drew 3 cards out of the 400 boxes and according to rumor, all 3 have been pulled. So it looks like I will be one card short of this master set.

I know I asked you this but who are the 6 you're missing?
