There have been few posts over on Scoundrel about Lancer-X (Lance Sawyer) and some financial troubles his parents are going through. Jim Kyle came to me to ask if he could post an auction here to benefit them. As he says, he knows this is against Card Talk policy -- but sometimes you have to bend the policies a bit depending on the situation, right?

I'll let Jim explain this in more detail below since he's more keyed into the fact then I am. Go for it Jim....

Hi everyone....First I want to thank Harris and NSU for helping out and letting me do this.

Sketch card artist Lance Sawyer's(LANCER-X) parents are in a tremendous financial bind due to unfortunate circumstances. Lance is doing whatever he can to help them out. You can read about that here:

Anyone who would like to help him out can contact him for a reduced sale commission through his email.

Now here'smy deal.....I am offering up two fully painted sketch cards...one of Dr. Who and one of "your choice of subject". They will be your choice commissions. It will be a silent auction that will take place in this thread.

The auction will start now and end on Friday Oct. 23rd at 6pm eastern time. The winner with the highest bid will get two fully painted sketch cards on my own stock of Dr. Who and a "your choice of subject", with their choice scene or character. Shipping is on me.

Anyone interested in bidding can PM me or email me(jimkyle@jimkyle.net) their bids.

Again, highest bid wins the card. bidders will remain private. If someone needs to know the high bid that's fine.

hey Jim, any particular reason these are specifically Dr Who?

I am looking for someone to do a Stargate spaceship battle scene and would be happy to bid for a good cause but have no interest in Dr Who.

You know, I just figured the folks over at Scoundrel were more comic and star wars types... I just went with the Dr. Who because I knew its a popular show and it was not comic or star wars based....LOL. I will gladly change it to one Dr. Who card and one Battlestar card though.

Actually I just changed it to one Dr. Who card and one "your choice of subject" card.

Congrats Tangent. Very good of you to help out like thus. And thank you Jim as well. It's great the way you're helping out Lance's parents like this.

I've been through some stuff this year as well, so I kinda know what it feels like to be in their situation. Maybe not on this level but somewhat. I just really appreciate the fact that their are folks out there that really would like to help, it means alot.

Also I'll be very honest, Ireally don't know Lance that well in terms of friendship. I do, however, know he's a stand up guy on the boards and he is genuine. So I'm glad to help him out in any way I can.
