I agree Wolfie, but from now on I only buy from people that are dealers or such. Not from people with low feedback(one time sellers)or have recenly changed their user ID's on Ebay,no returns accepted, etc.

To be honest, I've been paranoid about fake autograph cards for a long time, even before this thread was created. Unless its pack pulled or uncirculated (ie. Sealed Rittenhouse incentives, Razor Ink Vault, etc), I will always have that doubt. When buying an expensive card on ebay, I look for reputable sellers and ask them if the card was personally pack-pulled or purchased from someone else.

hi cardinalfan13
as has been said often here, hard to tell from a scan. mine has a watermark on the back (see earlier posts on how to spot this.)
the BPRD logo in light gray centered behind the signature doesn't show up in your scan, is it there. if you have other hellboy signatures, how do the colours compare?

mine has been bought off ebay, and as it looks enough like the other autos, I just trust that it is legit. The signature is pretty similar to your, but with slight differences
Any scan may not tell you anything that you cannot see yourself. they aren't going to pick up the import details the a forgery doesn't sometimes pick up too (like the bprd logo)

Just compared a DAVID CARRADINE AS CONRAD AUTOGRAPH FROM ALIAS that I pack pulled which had the inkworks watermark on the back to a RAZOR Uncirculated which didn't have the watermark. I also noticed this to a Vivca Fox auto aswell.

There are a couple of scenarios for the embossed/not embossed Dushkus. If I recall, the first batch she signed "went missing" on their way back to Inkworks so she agreed to sign another batch which Inkworks then embossed to differentiate them from the "missing" autos so 1 of 2 scenarios is likely.

1- Inkworks only embossed those cards which were sent out to fulfill redemptions and any unredeemed cards never got embossed.

2- Inkworks embossed the 2nd batch but at some later date the original batch finally made it back to Inkworks.

Judging from the sheer number of Dushku autos from the 2 Razor releases I'd put money on #2. I know Eliza signed 900 cards for the 2nd batch and if she signed as many the first time there are a lot of Angel season 4 Dushku's out there, boith embossed and not embossed.

Thats weird, were they really that inconsistent with the security features?

I wish someone who actually knows all of the facts *cough*Alan*cough* would chime in and set things straight so the collectors can stop speculating and worrying themselves.

Did you look at the Razor watermark in or outside of the case?

I've had a very hard time seeing some of these watermarks, especially if they are on a dark background.

Jon

I took the card out of the case and there is no inkworks or razor watermark

I didn't know razor were putting watermarks on the cards?

Hmm -- that's odd -- so some cards within the same set appear to both have and not have watermarks.

Oy!

I can buy gold embossed stickers with the same typeset. I can get 1000 of them for less than $300.00. Just because it's in a toploader that says uncirculated... thats no real reason to trust it. You might also want to read a little more about Razor. You can do that Here. becuse I have updated it today.

I just got an answer through e-mail from the seller.

"The Card is in no way fake it was sold to me by a friend who attended a convention. He got 3 Cards for me. I've keeped one and sold two others. Can you wait until I investigate this myself with who I bought the Cards from?"

I am sorry, but I do not buy that for a second. Why is it whenever a card comes into question it is always a FRIEND who bought it at a convention or flea market. I have heard this excuse way to many times. I questioned in my reply why the pictures for both of his sold Pine autographs were the same, and why he lists his address as in the US with ebay, but shipped the card from Ireland. This guy may not be a card collector or anything, but I took one look at the card and knew something was up. The signature is clearly a printed on, and not signed with a marker

my seller said he gotta
bounch of Kirks from a guy and the guy would pay him 50 pounds per card sold.

later, the guy said he got them at a german scifi show.
I believe my seller. Hey!!got my money back so it's all good....

Hey All

I haven't had a lot of spare time lately, but did get a chance to catch up a little
tonight on this thread. Very interesting reading.

I do sell and collect autograph cards amongst other things. I recall years ago
selling autographed 8 x 10's. It was a lot of fun up until people started making
accusations about authenticity. I looked it like this. If I had an autographed
picture on my wall of a celebrity I really liked, I was going to enjoy looking
at it no matter what.

Admittedly, l did steer away from that market because of all the controversy. I
still purchase autographed cards regularly for my personal collection and do
have as many as 4-5 copies of some.

However, what I enjoy the most, other than family life and life in general is
selling 2.00 - 3.00 cards of Spiderman, Lion King, Batman, Marvel, etc etc etc.

I still have a number of autographed 8x10's, autographed cards, and regular
cards hanging around here. I am by no means a completest, I just like what I
like. Nuff Said!!!!

On that note it's of the the land of nod.

Night all. Wave
