I see that the Strictly Ink Big Screen Dr. Who set from the late 2000s had a 45 card set inserted in a boxed set of DVDs. I have never seen these.

What do these look like ?

Are they hard to find ?

I don't know anything about them so I can't speak to rarity but I found these on worthpoint:

I could be wrong but I thought someone said that the 45 cards are the same as the first 45 cards of the 100 card base set.

Is this true ?

I do have a set of the DVD cards. They are different in several ways.

First the do not follow the first 45 cards of the base set they skip cards.
The dvd cards have a 3-4 mm white border around the outside of the cards.
On the back of the base set they have printed either one or two pages of the movie script, it missing
on the DVD cards

It looks like these 45 cards came in 6 card packs. Is this correct ? So were the cards random ? Because obviously you can't get 45 cards out 6 card packs using that math. I see one DVD on ebay now which seems to have 1 pack. So did you have to buy multiple DVDs or were all 45 available as a set somewhere ?

I'm trying to remember on these but i think that you got a random pack with the dvd and they were exclusive to a certain now closed down chain of media store which i think was MVC.

The cards are a 45 card set plus a header card and have Optimum Releasing on the backs as they released the dvd's.

As you can imagine putting a set together was a nightmare and very expensive. I think a few full sets were sold after the promotion finished.

I thought I saw someone on line say that the 45 card set came in a boxed set of Dalek DVDs.

Yet I see on ebay now a single DVD which seems to have 1 pack in it with possibly 6 cards but definitely not 45 in that pack.

Year box had base and chase from set released over the last year or so. It had a couple of sketches, autos, casino, chips, promos, preveiw sets and the 45 card dr who set. It was limited to about 200.

No I bought 2 year boxes about 2007 when they were released. Each box had a full set.

I am pretty sure that I have the 45 cards and that I probably acquired them from the year set previously referred to however I don't presently have access to them so I cannot check. I was however able to scan a copy of the promo card that appears in the second "Worth" link. I appear to have only one copy of the unnumbered promo which makes me think that I obtained all 45 cards together.

See below:-

Also doing an internet search I came across the DVD for both Peter Cushing films that had the 45 cards plus a signed card this being A21 Yvonne Antrobus which was the album incentive. One of the searches revealed that the DVD with the signed card and the 45 Card set was a Amazon exclusive.

Lastly I found on the bay a USA seller that is selling one of the packs.

regards

John
